She immediately opened the airlock, and disassembled her armor rig, before reassembling it inside.

"Oh yeah, one more thing before I go. I could totally have you that compression device made if you want. Might take a few weeks to get all the antimatter for it stabilized and some time to test it out, but we've used them on cargo before, don't think getting one modded to work on a person would be too much harder. Maybe not pocket sized, but you know, maybe like human height or something, so you could still wear your armor around?"
He stepped back to the doorway, giving her a bit of a disarming smile in case she decided to bust the laser out on him again.

"No. I will deal with this. The only time my armor comes off is when I sleep."

"No, no. That's what I meant. It's so you can easily walk around the ship all the time in all your armor without dinging it or the hull up. Uh, how would I put this in simple terms?" He thought for a minute, wincing.
"Guess it would just compress your bone and muscle structure a bit so you'd have to get used to that, but you could easily deactivate it if you needed when you're on a surface or down here or something. I can just give it to you when you're done so you can attach it to your armor or clothes or something. I think it might be really helpful if we end up in any more areas you might otherwise just get stuck in, like a cave system or something."

"No, you don't understand. It would ruin my armor. Different parts shrink at different rates."

"Got a point. Duh. Some engineer I am. Should have already known that much."
He exhaled a few sparks and frowned.

"Well, if there's anything else you need set up, don't be afraid to ask. I'll probably be down in engineering. Brief'll be this evening on the upper deck, think the Captain'll put out an announcement when he gets back, but just get ready to sit on your hands.. er.. paws for a bit. He likes to take his time."

And without another word and oblivious to the obvious power move from his fellow LT, Zell took off to the medical bay to check on the rest of the crew as far as room assignments. Hopefully they'd be way less bristly to talk to.
