(no worries I'm like two hours late to reply XD)

Soterra cleared out of the alleyway, still in a fog at what she had just done. She could still feel the dark magic cling to her hands and body as a chill reminder.
She decided sleep would be her best move for now and made her way back to the inn. Along the way, she noticed a strange man in black robes speaking some sort of odd language to a street pigeon that didn't seem the least bit interested in him.
She brushed him off as a madman and made her way inside to her room, opting to bathe the sins crawling on her back her regret away again before making her way off to bed.

The next morning Cypress talked to the training instructor before classes, setting them up with an experienced substitute, citing new orders as is reason for not overseeing the class himself.

It was mid-morning when he left the barracks, wearing dried and safely returned coat, sleeve covering his new scar. The vampire retraced his steps, returning to the pub (although it was closed). Lets see...there were only a few inn's nearby, shouldn't be too hard to check.

Sure enough, Soterra was outside one of them with a pitcher of tea and cup on top of the outdoor table she sat at.
She sipped at her tea and thumbed through a book of maps, trying to chart out a course in her head.

Unbeknownst to her, the same black robed man from the previous night watched her curiously with his back propped against the side of the inn's wall. A pigeon sat nonchalantly on his hooded head, preening itself.
He retrieved his lute and hummed a tune softly in her direction, hoping to score a few coins out of her.
When it didn't get so much of a stir from her, he decided to change tactics, beginning to sing.
"Ooooh~, we snuffed the magic dragon n' smote her kids in two
Stuck her with some pointy sticks and covered 'er in fuel.
We wounded 'er with shiny swords n' threw some fiery rounds, she bellowed out an angry cry and burrowed underground, ohh, she burrowed underground.."

Soterra looked up at him with confusion and just shook her head, trying to ignore him.

"The wizard turned into a giant, and pummeled the dragon's hide.
The warriors swung their mighty swords n' even fought inside.
The chain swingin' fatso, grabbed her by the toe n' saved the burly paladin from a horrible munchin' blow."

"If I pay you to stop, will you go far from here?"
Soterra looked frustrated at this point, reaching for her coin purse.

"Halfway through a song?" The man seemed confused and just shook his head, eyeing her book. "Oh, no, no. That wouldn't be right..
Hm. Actually, I would simply just like to know what scripture you have on hand there, I haven't seen that before." He stepped closer, lowering the lute.

"It..It's just a book of maps." She rose an eyebrow at the pigeon on his head. Had she seen him before?
Weird.

Cypress rather rudely interrupted them, mind totally cutting the robed figure out of the picture."Hey! You!" he called out, walking over to the table, grabbing both sides and leaning towards the Dreystani girl.

"I need to talk to you."

(sorry its short, but we're probably moving onto dialog anyway?)

She slid the book of maps over to the pigeon man and breathed a sigh in relief as Cypress stepping in.
"I hope it's not to beg for money."

(Dialogue is literally always short, lol. Don't stress
When I get annoyed by short posts they are generally because they fail to describe anything setting wise or their dialogue is just like "yeah ok" he said "good"
Your writing is fine with me. :>)

"I-- what? Nevermind!" Cypress narrowed his eyes at her. "Your goal in coming here was to visit Rostar, right? But you got caught in the war?"

"It was, yes. Why?"
Soterra looked between him and the man still thumbing through the book of maps. The pigeon cooed lightly at her.
She tried to shoo it off just for it to nip at her finger and nestle further against the man's hood.

"Oh, sorry." The man said, not even looking up to acknowledge Soterra. "Yzyyr'xost does not like people near him other than myself, I'm afraid. Curious little creature."

"Yzyyr-what?" Soterra blinked at him. For a moment, it sounded as if he was speaking in a completely different tongue.

"You can call him Yz, if you'd like."
He gave her a bit of a smile, studying over a map of Rostar with a finger.

"..Right.." She shook her head, turning back to Cypress.

Cypress stared at the hooded man with a dumbstruck look on his face, like he hadn't noticed the stranger.

Actually, he didn't. At all.

He wanted to ask the man to leave but grit his teeth against it. It didn't matter, the stranger would probably leave soon enough anyway, maybe they were just mapping out their journey with Soterra's book? 'Yz' the pigeon seemed to stare into Cypress' soul with one beady black eye.

It mildly terrified him.

"I can get you there. Rostar- I mean, I can get you to Rostar safely."

"If you think you can, guess I'll have to take you up on the offer. What's the catch?"
Soterra propped her chin up on her hand.

Archon looked up at the two, a bit surprised as he returned the book to Soterra. "You two are travelling to Rostar? Fortunate coincidence, I was planning on heading there myself. I simply did not know the way is all."

The vampire commander tried to ignore the stranger and his judgy pigeon. He pointed at the Dreystani girl.

"Your taking me with you-- and we have to pass through Ruskar first."
