Yeah, but even if the Smoothie didn't exist, Suger Plum is still pretty dull sans vis. And how do we know that non-VV members wouldn't also like a different-colored theme? We have 24 members, which is small compared to the total number of registered users, but when you factor in the number of people who sign on more than once a month, and consider the number of players who couldn't give less of a hoot what the Sylvorpa themes look like...

I'm not saying that Krin and Fai should just cave to our demands every time we're feeling fussy, but I think the bilateral dialogue does us all some good. Sylestia has something special about it that bigger sites like Gaia and Neopets don't: More dedicated loyal active users and admins who actually care what we think. Is there any way to find out what the general userbase thinks? If they're thrilled by the muted pink theme, fine, but if they also think that a watered down version of the Smoothie is silly and redundant, we should definitely bring it to the admins' attention. I mean, what good does it do to retire old themes if the new ones look almost exactly like them?

On a different note, I am also disappointed in how much the Sugarplums look like both Smoothies, especially when they have no Vis. (If you aren't sure what I'm talking about, the Sugarplum discussion begins about two pages back from this post.)

They're easier to tell apart the more Vis they have. However, it does seem that the Sugarplum is principally a more monochromatic Smoothie, with the blues turned into lavenders, purples, and pinks. (The way to tell a Smoothie from a Sugarplum is the eye color. Smoothies have blue eyes, while Sugarplums have lavenderish-pink eyes.)

Yeah, I immidiately thought of the Smoothy vorpa's when I saw the new design.
The only diffrence I see in the colors is that the Smoothies have bluish and pink-purple while the sugarplums are purples and lavenders.
I preferred the Emperors, too.

Nice Emperor! I've got several I'm going to mutate too, sooner or later. I bougt an Emperor that has carried Fairy Crown myself.

Must admit that I was shocked to see the new vorpa theme...it's pastel, ALL pastel :-(. To make matters worse, it replaced a theme that wasn't pastel, a theme I really liked. Sigh.

At least they managed to finally get a wing I like, so I'll just focus on that and ignore the yucky pastels. Have I mentioned I can't stand pastels? :-P

So, basically, Sugarplum is First Edition Smoothie if First Edition Smoothie had zero contrast.

On the upside, since crossbreeding themes has become an official Thing with the latest Griffi themes, I'm all for crossbreeding Smoothies and Sugarplums to achieve the least crappy color combination between them. Take the blue eyes, the tail fins, and the head fins of the Smoothies and put them on the Sugarplums or something.

So HAS anyone mentioned this in the suggestion box area of the forum index?

Y'know the idea of the Sylestian players voting on themed designs?

Because you know, for something like this to happen it's going to need more than one persons input. Should we put evidence and others like it? (Looking at Elf's comparison between the Smoothie and the Sugarplum)
