Ezael gave her a dip of the head before stepping out of the throne room, noting the presence of a certain masked assassin standing nearby with a tinge of pain.

It made him uneasy as he cleared away from Gallagher, wanting to have little to do with him.

Gallagher watched the priest go by. He didn't trust anyone from the church, and he would never trust anyone from the church. He silently began actually following him, keeping his distance while staying in the shadows.

Ezael felt his feathers bristle as the man continued to follow him.
It didn't take him very long to panic and slip outside quickly, hoping to shake him by slipping into a side garden of the palace.

He breathed a sigh and rested his back against the stone wall of the palace. He relaxed for a moment before feeling his headache pick up again. He couldn't see him, but he felt the man's presence like a dagger to his throat.

"Sir. Sir, do you require something?"
He finally spoke up, sounding a bit irritated, but clearly holding his tongue.

Gallagher emerged from the shadows. " why are you here? " he asked him. His voice had a cold tone to it, and he silently rested his hands on the hilts of his sheathed weapons.

"I was sent by the Goddess to offer my protection to the Empress. I do not intend to bring ill will to anyone here."

He kept a hand near the lance on his back despite the reluctant expression on his face. It was clear he didn't want to fight Gallagher.

His eyes narrowed. The goddess hadn't done much good for him, besides place him next to the Empress. He had that much to thank her for. " i hope you realize i don't take kindly to your presence, no matter who sent you. "

He stepped forward and set a glowing hand on Gallagher's head, using a bit of holy magic to attempt to calm his temper.
"Regardless of your opinions on me, I will mind my place and will not let them interfere with my duties."

"I am pleased to hear that. Others of the Church may frown upon individuals such as yourself and advocate for swift actions against you, but I have seen that the contents of your soul are pure and well-intentioned.
