"Yes..." He drew out the 's' sound, watching your every move. "So, I'll give you some insight on the topic; people have been murdered, and before they were... all victims reported seeing levitating objects before being killed, and the wounds are rather normal knife wounds."
(Darn it, my bad)
Flying knives? That would be weird. But wait, weren't these people murdered? How did they find that out? "But, if they were murdered, how were they able to report seeing anything?" Micah asked, slightly puzzled.

"No, I did not say flying knives." His eyes narrowed even more. "I said, levitating objects. Things like vegetables, pencils, normal everyday small to medium sized objects. No furniture or big things were reported. As for the reports, these were reported because people thought it was weird and creepy. Then, they died."

Oh, Micah said, leaning back in the chair, That is totally not creepy at all. Have you checked in with any of the local ghosts yet? He half-joked, feeling slightly disturbed. All those innocents, dead. For nothing more than they reported something strange.

Verius tutted. "This is serious, Micah." He reminded you, staring straight at you into your eyes. "There is no time for jokes. As for ghosts, they don't play like this.

(3 lines? I had two lines because my phone posted kinda suddenly, as you notice there aren't quotation marks at the end)
The mint tea managed to wash down most of the nervousness you were feeling, and Verius unlaced his fingers and placed his hands delicately on the table. "Now, really? It's quite simple. We want you to sniff out the murderer, catch them, if you can. Of course, you won't be alone, but mostly it will be you, since you're not a Lalnian."

(Blargh, I keep failing at that. Probably sleepy brain)
Micah nodded, feeling less nervous enough to be mostly serious, "So, I need to find the unknown serial murderer who kills people who see floaty things. Great."
He paused thinking, "Do you think there might be someone who has seen something floating but didn't report it, and thus wasn't killed? And might I ask who I'll be working with?"

"You'll be working with... an acquaintance of mine. She'll be here shortly. And no, I don't think it's because of the floating objects that people were then killed. I believe it is the fact that the killer locks on, the does something to cause levitation, letting the targets know they're targeted." He looked up and behind you as the door creaked open behind you.
"Hello, Lord Verius." I deep male voice said, and Verius nodded his head in greeting.

"Huh," Micah mused in response, "That's-" he was cut off by the door as someone walked in. He turned around sharply in his seat, trying to see this newcomer. This probably wasn't the person he was going to be working with, seeing as Verius referred to them as 'she.' But he was curious nonetheless.

It was another man, and they walked over to the desk, sitting down in the chair beside you, facing Verius.
"Ah, Verius. Is this who you've found to help with the murders, then?" He addressed Verius, and was talking about you.
"Indeed, M." Verius nodded, then looked at you. "You're ready, are you?"
