Young and full of life the adolescent was eager to try out his wings, he wished to fly like his parents. Quietly he crept out to the edge of the cave and lifted his small iridescent wings to launch off but slowly he put them down as he gazed across the wide expanse of land. He watched as the sea shimmered far of in the distance and the trees that were changing into thousands of spring colors colors slowly swayed. Slowly he turned and scampered back off to his nest in the cave. He would fly but he would not fly today.

A shrill cry echoed through the mist and the darkness of the night. She grinned in maniac glee as she watched the red spill from the other sylesti's throat. Her now red teeth glinted in the full moon's light and she began to laugh. The life drained from her victim's gray eyes. His blood stained both the dirt and the white of his neck. Her cold eyes closed as she hummed happily and turned away from the lifeless form lying on the ground. Her dark fur rustled with the wind as she disappeared into the darker shadows of trees.

A single star shone in the dawn sky. Two females sat together, heads pressed together in love. A soft sigh escaped one of there's mouth as they stared at the rising sun.

He gazed longingly at the other sylesti from across the sand. He sat on the beach while his crush played in the water with his friends. The other's eyes matched the calm waves and his bright fur shone with the water droplets. He sighed again and closed his purple eyes against the sun's rays. Suddenly there was the weight of another body on his back and laughing in his ears. He glared over his shoulder to get a face full of his sister's fluffy ears.
"Whadya want Lilly?" He grumbled in playful annoyance.
"I saw you eyeing Blake over there~" She responded in a sing-song voice and she batted her mismatched eyes at her brother.
He huffed and turned back around to look back out at the waters. He was slightly startled to find Blake walking towards him.
"Hey, Tyler! Hi, Lilly!" Blake called as his tail swished just above the sand. His golden fur was still wet from the ocean and his eyes shone happily.
Tyler smiled back at the other and ignored his sister's quiet, knowing giggles behind him.

The sylesti spread it's wings and soared away, finally it was free! It's fur was dusty and it hadn't been fed in a long time but it's feathers seemed to reach for the rising sun, for it's escape, for it's hope.

Softly the mother hummed a tune for hatching, the little hatching snuggled next to its mothers warm side. together they watched as the sun fell from the sky and the stars started to glitter. The hatching looked in wonder at his Mothers hide that looked so much like the night sky. Then he looked down to his own silver down and back up to see his mother gaze off into the distance. The hatching fallowed his mothers gaze to were another like them silhouetted the silver disc of the moon.

The 3 hatchlings ran and twisted around the legs of there mother, begging for food. The father gave a humored growl as the male tripped his mother. He pulled him in with a large paw and gave him a lick on the head. He looked up, letting the cub go, his large mane blowing in the wind. The two female cubs sat around of the paws of there as the male scampered over the them. "Soon," the father growled, "We will have too leave to hunt..." The mother glanced down at her cubs, wrapping her tail protectively around them. She dipped her head in solum agreement and rubbed her muzzle against her mate's before lying down to suckle her cubs.

He let out a content sigh as he stretched out on his back. He purred as he relaxed against the sun-warmed rock and lazily flicked his gray tail back and forth. He let his pale green eyes trace over the trees slowly and just took in the beauty and colors of Autumn. He yawned and closed his eyes to slowly drift off into the dream world.

The old friend stretched out in the sun. They had been through wars and peace but they had been through them together. And as two old friends would be they enjoyed every moment together. The first of the old friends sniffed a near by blossom that was the same pastel as her best friend. The secant rubbed her graying muzzle in an attempt to scratch an itch. Both of the friends sneezed at the same moment and like always they laughed together afterwords.
