(Lately, I've been feeling hungry, but whenever I eat something, I just don't want to eat it. I kinda get a nauseous feeling when I do. Kinda just passed it off as me being difficult and picky, so I've just been waiting for my parents to go to the store and buy bread so I can eat it all. Because that's basically all I will eat without feeling like I don't want to eat it)

He walked over to the books, picking up a black and purple one with a metal raven attached to it. The raven had purple gemstones as eyes. " This one. " He remembered seeing the nobles read it whenever he was in the magic circle.

It would light up, and he would feel the usual sharp pain of being inflicted with dark magic.

(Yeah, bread and crackers used to be my go-tos to snack on until I stopped being able to eat wheat.
Might just be a mental thing in your case. There's times I definitely get like that with food and can't seem to find an appetite despite knowing I haven't eaten but I attribute that in my case to my depression. It's.. annoying.)

Lowell Brichalles
Lowell stepped over to take a look at the book for himself, reading it silently with narrowed eyes.

(Yeah I resorted to eating one of my tuna packets. Now my dog is staring at me like 'peasant give me food' and I'm like...;-;)

He handed the book to him.

It seemed to be a informative guide about black magic in general. There was a bookmarked page, in which turned to was the page on controlling people with black magic. It seemed that this was the Grand Dukes goal.

(my cat straight up screams at me for food, thinks he's getting fed any time I'm in the kitchen. It's horrible.
Once tried to maul me over a salmon packet too, lol.
I like when he does the dog type, stare begging because most of the time he just bullies me until I cave in.)

Lowell Brichalles
That.. That did not sound promising. He made a mental note of this before setting the book back on the shelf.

"I don't think we'll find anything else down here.. But we better get moving before something finds us."

(lol my dog was staring at me in the dark, with only my computer light. So i was so scared when i saw a pair of glowing eyes next to my bed xD)

He nodded, looking up as footsteps were heard approaching the door. There was only one way in and one way out, so Gallagher put his hands on the hilt of his dual swords.

(Ah yes, the dreaded:

I used to own a black cat that liked to hide in laundry baskets or closets at night. Would always scare me half to death.)

Lowell Brichalles
Lowell drew his sword with a low growl, the smell of blood beginning to get to him despite his best efforts. The footsteps only served to put him on further alert as his sword tauntingly called for slaughter.

(For reall!!! And i can't even eat my tuna in peace bc my dog likes to growl at everything she hears, and food calms er)

The door swung open, and in stepped a mage. He was surprised by the 2 clear intruders, but didn't have a chance to react before Gallagher lunged at him, stabbing him in the chest. He let his body drop to the floor before turning back to Lowell. " Lets go, before more come. "

Lowell Brichalles
Lowell gave a nod, making his way out of the room without another word. He didn't intend to stick around anyways. The day was beginning to grow late and the longer they hung around, the more likely it was they'd draw more attention and have to fight their way out again. He definitely wasn't trying to get himself decapitated in the middle of a change.

Gallagher swiftly made his way down the corridor, then heading up the stairs and pushing the door open. He hadn't sheathed his weapon yet, but was glad he didn't when he reached the top. There was the Grand Duke, who looked scarily similar to the late emperor, along with several other guards.

Lowell Brichalles
Lowell rose his hand briefly, focusing his lightning magic on the guards moving to charge them both, leaving a loud crackling boom in the room as a bolt cascaded off two of the guards. They were left fried under their own suits of armor, falling to the castle floor in agony.
He blocked the axe of the third one who managed to approach him with his sword, trying to push back and power through the axe's momentum to stagger him.
