Gallagher went straight for the Duke, aiming at his neck. However, he quickly blocked the assassin, pushing him back. He ran at him again, swiftly cutting down any soldiers that blocked his path. He made a quick glance towards the window, looking outside. The sun was beginning to set. He used the shadows to his advantage, slipping in and out of them as more soldiers ran at him. But his only target was the Duke.

He let out a growl as the axe slipped some and cleaved skin of his forearm, forcing the guard stumbling back into another guard that had charged at him. He could feel his own sword movements growing sluggish with the evening settling in, opting to resort to his spells while he still had the capacity for them.
As he rose his sword to block the last guard that charged him, surging crackling electricity through his blade and down the arm of the guard who attempted to fight him.

He threw his electrified blade forward at the two guards beginning to get up, frying them as the sword lit up, almost out of anger and caused Lowell to drop to his knees as it returned beside him in a wicked surge of black flame.
He cursed lowly under his breath, he had been hoping that the maneuver would have bought him a few extra moments, but for now he seemed under the mercy of both the Grand Duke and the beast that empowered him as he dug sharpening claws into the floor.

"Finish..him.."

Gallagher was suddenly thrown very harshly into the wall, crashing into it before falling to the floor. The Grand Duke walked over to him, giving him a sharp kick in the chest before turning as more soldiers rushed in.

" Lock the both of them up. "

The soldiers carried out the orders, a bit wary around Lowell as the sun disappeared over the horizon.

He snarled violently at the approaching guards as the curse overtook him and he forced himself to stand, taking the sword in hand again as he felt familiar fur creeping over his face. Demonic black flames flicked over his breath and limbs from the sword's power surging.
"There.. is.. no cell in this nation that would hold a beast like me. Consider yourself lucky if we can manage to find one to hold you."

He spat out at the Grand Duke as he speared one of the soldiers who had approached him with his sword. He got a sick sense of satisfaction as the other seemed hesitant in his changing stage, almost beckoning him forward with his eyes to meet the same fate as he took a lumbering step forward.

" ...I didn't specify whether or not I would use a cell. " He said, as white magic circles appeared on the floor below both him and Gallagher. Before they could even move, a barrier powered by holy magic surrounded them, trapping them in the small space.

Gallagher glared fiercely at the elder man before them, expressing his clear hate towards him.

He swore under his breath as he flattened his ears. The holy magic around him made his skin burn fiercely and the flames of the curse peter out, leaving him in a half-wolf state as he wracked his ailing brain for any sort of means of escape. What a time to regret not studying magic further..
Unless..
He set a clawed hand on the ground and tried to push past the pain of the magic as he recited a short incantation he had gleaned from the book he had just read, trying to direct black magic into the circle itself.

The magic seeped into the circle, darkening it. Only to shoot back out in a burst of painful energy.

" You are not getting out anytime soon. " The Grand Duke said. " The more you try the more it will hurt. "

"Then I will die trying."
He snarled out and dropped to his other hand, repeating the process with his own electric magic crackling off his body as he repeated the incantation, digging his claws into the wood floor. He was driven entirely by fury at this point, the holy magic having pushed him over some brink of desperation.

Everytime he tried it just shot back at him, inflicting more pain and damage than the last.

" Then I will send your corpse to the Empress herself. "

(I was quietly shipping Gallagher and Lowell tbh despite neither of them being gay but I can dream of bromance ok
Gallagher marrying the Empress is about as farfetched, but I would pay to see Lowell as his best man. XD)

Exhausted and bloody after a few attempts, he dropped to a knee, panting. He had enough of this at this point and with a swift motion, drove his cursed sword into the middle of the circle, repeating the incantation a final time.
