@Asczudlo,

If you're browsing someone's stables/hatchery or nurturing the pet will have a little gold icon on it's picture. You can also search for pets for sale by changing the search at the top to pets...and then hitting enter which will bring you to our search feature.

I have one question: how do we unlock the other avatar appearance options, such as different ears, clothes, etc.?
