Ok so my hubby and i went over to Nocturnia77's house on halloween night after last minute pumpkin/gourd purchases sooo here we go :)
Our little miscellanious group of fall awesomeness!
The carnage!
Lil bitty owl!
In the dark!
I had to enlist the aid of my husband getting the top off. i struggled for a good while with a kitchen knife. It was an extremely tough carve! Nocturnia's looks a lot more fun but i will leave it to her to share, lol. :)
We had a super awesome fun halloween, to bad i passed out as soon as i got home at around 10pm!

Thank you so much Hiber! I had a lot of fun with that and I wanted to do something unique that would fit on an apple XD

As was seen in Bebop's post, we carved ours together. It was raining so I had to set it up inside. Here's my series:

I decided to carve a bat-pumpkin. I made the hole in the bottom of my pumpkin instead of the top because I heard this will make the pumpkin last longer.
planned the design
Poked the design into the pumpkin
Started carving (that's my dad's arm)
Next day, moved outside. I scratched out the yellow parts with a big sharp knife. This was the most time-consuming part.
The pumpkin at night. (sorry about my name not being there, I stuck it to the pumpkin, but it wouldn't show up)
Here is a screenshot of my most recent photos if it makes the last photo valid.(from left to right and top to bottom: bat pumpkin @night, washed out bat pumpkin @night, bat pumpkin @night 2, more bat pumpkin stuff, gessoed-up right costume horn, bat draft plushies being held by a replica of my left arm made from tape and newspaper, said dummy arm holding scissors near an extremely tiny glue bottle, Aurleon plush (2 pics), giant rolls of bubble wrap, attempt at participating in inktober, ASL class thing I needed to remember)

So here's a poor attempt at the digital version. Flee in horror at the terrible mouse-skills! ^v^

So for my pumpkin, I did a carving of a Pokemon called Swinub. I'd seen tons of other pokemon pumpkin carving stencils but this little guy is my favorite pokemon, so I decided to make him! This also happened to be my first time carving a pumpkin, and boy it was fun! Sadly I was not able to light it up like others due to some unfortunate circumstances, but I still feel very proud of myself~ I'm tempted to find another pumpkin and carve it out again so I can put a light in it xD But here we go, say hello to my Swinub pumpkin! (My apologies for the extreme size...)
