I adore the icing! Icing is my favorite part of cakes, but only recently have I realized how tricky it is aha. (I tried playing with clay-icing lately ;w;)

I should post my valentine too. ;w;
@Cyanidae: I see your Reese and Cyrus, and raise my Isabelle and Digby!


For this project, I used regular paper to sketch the shape, some cardstock scraps to cut out the template so I can trace it on construction paper, red construction paper (for valentine's day!), watercolor pencils (and a brush, and water), and a white nail art pen because I don't have a white gel pen aha.
For the glue to stick the paper together, I only had tape and super glue from the on-campus convenience place. x: The super glue was watery and bled through the construction paper. ;;


In the middle of the week, I was working out sketches for the idea I had: a ny'vene-shaped valentine. ;w;


Earlier in the morning, I started getting some serious work in, trying to figure out how to cut the shape of the 'vene. ;w;


Got the outline done for cut out template!

My stopping point for this morning before I went to a hack-a-thon (where I'm currently posting this). ;w;

Cut the wings out of the construction paper and put them on the body! Also had to fold em and make sure they looked okay.


I had this idea for the wings of the ny'vene for awhile now. c: I love the Nebula gene on Ny'venes, and I wanted to simulate it with the watercolors and some pens. In my mind, I was thinking cool colors were ideal, but for Valentine's Day, which prefers warm colors, I winged it with red paper, and leaned to more warm colors (but still wanted to have some cool colors in it), with some white stars in the wings. Thankfully, I had a nail art pen that I could use. I wish I had a white gel pen though aha.


Unfortunately, I think the left wing (on the right in this pic^) came out better than the other one in terms of coloring, but the other wing (in the center of this pic^) looked better shape-wise lol.

Flute, it has been years since I did this kind of decorating... definitely a little rusty on making all those flowers! Took me quite a while to hand make all of them... and they look more like carnations then roses! >_<
But, new for me is using the fondant, that was lots of fun and I think I may take a class to learn how to use it better! Hearts were fun... but so much you can do with it!

I'm posting a rubber band bracelet valentine I made. I know its a little late, but still..

You start with the middle row...


Add the bands for the hearts...


Add top and bottom border...


The connect-bands...


Loop the bottom border row, and pull the bottom of the heart to the top...


Finish looping...


Wa-la! You have a little white charm (Add extension for bracelet) with little hearts on it!

Welp I hate valentine's day but I'm pretty proud of my creation/drawing.
