I think this is the species that will benefit most from new layering. We can have completely different antlers and flower shapes around the neck. For antlers, we can have flame antlers, cosmic antlers, crystal antlers, kirin horn (some kirin are more deer like). It's just incredible the amount of possibilities.

Of course, in most deer species the female doesn't have antlers but I think there's exceptions like the reindeer. I think we could probably have the female faelora with antlers for at least a few mutations as well but maybe just have them smaller but with other details like extra flowers.

I think genes would work best divided into gen 1 - body, gene 2 - body runes, gene 3 - flower.

If there's no leaf veins available with the pre-tag faes, I'm very tempted to eventually mutate one with leaf veins so there'll be more offspring likely to get regens. It's extremely likely that this gene like on most recent revamps will be moved to gene 1. This same tactic of breeding purposely for leaf veins could be useful for other themes, too.

Different antlers would be interesting, but they might need to be careful to prevent if from becoming like the Lunemara antenna options, feeling a little too small a change, or ending up mismatched with other traits. Looking up Kirin images though, I think that could end up a great restricted set! (One Kirin image actually looked almost exactly like a Qitari; I guess they're based on the concept, and I didn't notice until now!)

I'd like to see more mutations that alter the flower collar, other than Autumn Flower. How about Amaryllis Flower, Rose Flower, and Calla Flower?

The does could certainly have antlers, but I doubt that the admins will make such a change.

Qitari heavily borrowed from kirin I think as well. The chinese name for kirin is qilin. The gnarled horn used to look more like a kirin horn than it's newest version. Here is what my starter used to look like.

Kirin can actually vary greatly in appearance depending on the time period and country. They can more closely resemble dragons, deer, or horses depending. The first version of the Qitari on the site reminded me a lot of the kirin in Twelve Kingdoms. It was a major reason why I joined the site. The changes to the qitari post-revamp has made me less affectionate to the species as time has gone on unfortunately. At least I really love the kelpari now though.

I think the problem with the lune antennas is that antennas are so small to begin with. They often feel lacking to me as well. I would think something more like how we have different types of manes or horns for qitari as an option. There would always still be the default if nothing else though in the case of the faes.

Edit: I realize I could just as easily say qilin through the entire post than kirin, but I'm just more familiar with Japanese mythology and stories so I tend to just say kirin out of habit.

I think art-wise I'd like faelora's to be more elegant with less barrel like bodys. I'd definitely like more types of flower mutations on M1 as alternatives for autumn flower, like how the aeridinis can have so many different tail flowers. For M1 they could also get some more saddle options, like the quitaris have, so things like circus saddle, jeweled ribbons, armour of some kind. They definitely need more head mutations and I think modified horns would be cool, for example willow horns that droop down on males or give the females a mane. I don't really have any ideas for M3 or genes other than that fealoras need more traits in general.

I'm suddenly reminded of this (Sawsbuck, a Pokemon, for those who don't know):

We could have seasonal antlers!
