I draw back, thinking maybe I shouldn't have done that. I walk back to Jackson, blushing slightly.

I say, in reply to the birdwoman,
"We are in Fernridge Forest. It is just south of a human city."

"In fact," Jackson said. "I was thinking of going to the city- I'm almost out of food. I just need a baseball cap and a coat- and I look like a person."

"I need to go too. I am growing out of my clothes, and need some flour and sugar. We can go tomorrow if you like. I have a coat and hat, as well as two backpacks to hide our tails." I say.

He nodded."Good."

"I've never been to a city before," Elissa said. Her wings and tail were too hard to hide, so it had never been worth the effort. "What's it like?" she decided not to mention the fact that she had no idea where Fernridge Forest was. Maybe she could just fly west until she reached the ocean.

"A city is a human settlement that is built of tall, stone and metal buildings. it is full of humans, especially the ones with lost of money."

"Huh, sounds interesting," Elissa mused. "The most humans I see are the ones on ships. Even then I didn't really see much of them because we'd dive underwater and stay there until they had passed." She paused for a moment and then added, "I never did catch your name.":

"I'm Maya. Well met."
