The Ghost Lover

An empty shoreline
Near void of any movement
Save that of the waves

A chime of midnight
The moon does yet disappear
This Halloween Night

A single figure
Standing alone on the shore
A ghost of the past

A billlowing cloak
A single white rose in hand
Staring o'er the sea.

A lover waiting
For the one he loves the most
To return to him

Yet he knows not that
His lover's last words to him
Will never come true

A lover's promise
Is all that keeps this young man
From peace of true death

The Frozen Lady of the Lake

When the air chills, and the birds migrate to the warmer weathers of the south. Her story gets told. the lady of the frozen lake. A warming to would be wonders, to not venture to the lakes center. It is said, that on the first night of frost she can see walking along the frozen surface, akin to that fateful night many winters ago.

These past months, she's been hiding behind a facade of soft green, doing her job quietly, concealing her vibrant colors. With her time drawing to a close, she will no longer hide herself. In a burst of brilliant hues, she reveals what had been kept concealed. Soon she will fade, but her life will be complete, having done her diligent work, and blazed with vivid joy.

Appearances are not always what they seem.

"Be still child," a voice called in the night, "I will not harm thee, but I may cause you fright. I have come for the beast which lurks in thy closet. The beast which brings your nightmares and feeds upon thy fear."

The sound of an unearthly how fills the room, and she speaks once more, "Be still sweet child, have no fear, do not be frightened of how I appear." Stepping from the shadows, she moves towards the child, a gentle caress upon his brow. "My hound hath led me to your chamber, to collect that beast which troubles thee so. I will not tarry longer than need, for thy needeth your rest, and there are many more to collect."

With that the creature, aiming to aide the child, moved to the closet to gather the beast. The hound wreathed in fel fire at her side, howling it's chilling call. The fight over and done, the beast slain and collected, the hunter turned to the child once more. "Thy room is cleansed, fear no more, thy dreams shall be sweet as they were before." She then stepped to the shadows, hound at her heel and left that child's room as quietly as she had come.

A sigh on the wind, and a pat to the hound, "They do not understand, I know that now. Once one of the Heavenly Host; cursed by that which I loathe the most. Doomed to appear as those I hunt. Feared by many, trusted by none...I continue my hunt, and catch..one by one. I am Jezzielle, and I hunt those most foul. Protecting the innocent, is my calling now."

Alaric the Conquerer
He trained day and night to fight without sight, honing his agility, dexterity, and magical abilities for daring battles. His world was plagued by ghostly basilisks on a full moon night. They slithered down through the fog and into the frosty fields attacking any and all farmers and villagers in their paths. Alaric had foreseen this calamity in the stars and had just enough time to prepare. He swooped into the towns like an owl in the night slaying the venomous ghosts with the help of his wolf guardian, Malaki, who ran by his side swift and brave.

"My fellow Ishnu!" yelled the chief. His hooves clattered on the rock he perched himself on. He had gathered all his people around him, his red eyes slanting into a look of fury. "The humans have become arrogant and ignorant! They think they can just take us for their own gain?! Our magic is not to be taken lightly! Our work is not some hoax to be taken as a joke!"
A loud cheer rang up from the group of creatures all around him. They stomped their hooves, they shook their horns in frustration. They chanted out to their leader, "Long live the chief! Long live Ishmal!"
"I say we show the humans what the world will be like if we didn't do our job! I say we show them what we are ! They say we are demons?! They're right! But we have been peaceful demons long enough! We will fight back! We will show them how much they need us!"
More cheers erupted as a second Ishnu joined the chief. Ishmal turned to them as a red and black helm was lifted up. He bent his head down and a war helm was fitted over his preexisting horns. It was the declaration of war. This was it.
"Open the gates of hell!" bellowed Ishmal. "Let the humans face the monstrosities from within the fiery pits! For without us guarding those gates, who will protect them?!"
Eager shouts filled the air as the orders were carried out swiftly. All the monsters, from the largest ogre to the smallest demon, were allowed to roam free in the human world. The war between beast and human had begun.

Beetlejuice

(I liked the movie a lot, okay. I think of this as more Halloweenish then Fallish.)
A small man stands on a hill in a small model town, waving his arms, trying to get your attention. He looks to be the size of only an action figure. You walk over and look at the man, you snicker as you see his outlandish hair. "Hey there! Maybe you could help me get out of here. I kinda gotta meet some people in an hour." He shouts up to you, "All you have to do is say my name three times. But the tricky part is, I can't say my name."

"Fine, I'll help you." You say, a little confused about what's happening. The small man smiles, "Thank you! So, uh, how about this?" He holds up a beetle, then holds up a glass of apple juice. "Applebeetle?" you say, but the man shakes his head. "How about beetleapple? Beetlejuice?" The man shakes his head at the first one but nods at the second. "Ah ha! That's it, come on, say it two more times!" He shouts happily. You smile at him, "Beetlejuice... Beetlejuice!" Right after you say his name again, he appears right next to you, now life-size. He taps you on the shoulder, and you disappear, then reappear in his old spot, now shrunken. "It was nice knowing you, but I've got to go. Have fun being stuck there for eternity," He says while laughing. Then he turns around and walks away from you.
