(no idea who else is in this room but I'll just ping you and just stick him in here. Guess I'm the Count of Karvos now. :^))

Archer Wolfram Percival

Archer, who had more than imbibed more than his fair share of drinks among the celebrating nobles, and begun playfully hitting on the servants suddenly stiffened at the sight of the elder Empress.
The woman's piercing eyes were enough to put a shiver even down his spine and snap him back to some level of functional sobriety. He had ceased his joking among the others around him and sat respectfully, trying to keep his eyes lowered and wings held tightly along his robes as if he was trying to hide his own embarrassment among the men at the table.

Sierra, also known as the Empress Dowager stood at the edge of the table. She looked over at the servants, who already knew what she waited. Maids quickly rushed and took the food off the table, while her gaze didn't move from the nobles. Once the food was cleared and out of sight she inhaled and exhaled slowly, as if trying to calm herself. " This....is an absolute disgrace. " She said, loudly so that everyone could hear. " This is a disgrace to the Emperor, and also to the imperial family. Every, single person in this room is lucky that I don't throw you all in the dungeons for disrespecting and smearing the royals name. "

Archer Wolfram Percival

"Your Imperial Majesty, if I may.. A word?"

Archer stood up slowly, bowing his head respectfully to her. He still seemed to be slurring his words but he held himself together enough for now to not make a complete disgrace of his family name.

"Sincerest of apologies. I do not speak for all of the kingdom of Caemid, but on the behalf of House Karvos, it was decided, in efforts to bolster the alliance our countries share under the late Emperor, that we would honor his name and your family through celebration.
In our lands, it is customary that such times are not seen as occasions for mourning so much as honored celebration and remembrance of a legacy. I do believe this was intended to be a matter discussed between your family and our royal prince, but I believe he was called to attend a separate affair this evening. Again, I do apologize as it seems things have gotten somewhat out of hand in his absence."

" That may be so. If that is the case, then do all the death anniversaries in you're country end up with the nobles partying until they're too drunk to even comprehend a sentence? " She said, clearly going after him. Her face was emotionless, but her tone of speech was sharp and her eyes were angry.

Archer Wolfram Percival

He swallowed hard, trying to not let himself be intimidated by the Dowager, giving her a disarming albeit nervous smile.

"U-usually, King Folcard goes first."
He joked lightly to the audible amusement of the nobles around him.

"As I said previously, Your Majesty, I believe we have gotten carried away. It is not our intent to offend our closest ally. If it would please you, we will depart posthaste and I will speak to Prince Folcard personally regarding our..er.. future choices in festivities."

" Please do. " She said, moving her piercing gaze to the other nobles. " As for the rest of you, you can expect a fine coming to you're estates. Be noted the fine is the lightest punishment I will give you. And I will be informing the Empress about this. " She said. Some of the male nobles paled a bit. The Empress, when it came to punishments, was harsh, but even more so harsher to the male higher ups.

Archer Wolfram Percival

Archer bowed his head and quickly gathered his belongings before he incurred any sort of fine to his own house.
His father would have his head for even stepping foot in the Empire again. It was difficult enough dealing with the old man already.
The young Prince would be disappointed, of course, but when it came to discussing any sort of matter the Folcard family were far more approachable than either of the Empresses of Arkaos.

She turned, and walked out of the room, the stuffy air in the large dining space seemingly clearing with her. She was indeed going to inform her daughter of this, but not at this very moment. The nobles hadn't learned it yet, but that was a simple scare tactic to keep them in line for a while. And when they started acting out of line, thats when she told the Empress.

Aedan De Doria

Aedan stopped suddenly when the door opened and the empress dowager entered the room. In her mourning clothes, she looked majestic and fearsome. He could see the anger on her face.
He was standing like a fool, and didnt if he should try to escape before she could recognize him, or if he should regain his seat. At least he knew he was right. The feast should never have taken place. But, he probably looked as guilty as the other nobles in the eyes of the widow of the Emperor Axelio. He had bad luck, as usual. He should have left earlier.
He decided than he needed to try to save some of his dignity.

Your Majesty, please! He called as she was walking through the door.
I sincerely apologize for this disrespectful behavior, in the name of the Duchy of Doria. I promise to repair the wrong I caused to you and your family.
He was tense, and had spoken too fast to hide it.

He threw a glance at the Count. He wondered if he had told the truth and if festivities were held to honor the memory of the dead where he came from.

She stopped, and turned slowly to look at him. She examined him, recognizing him from his family name. " I'm not the one you should be attempting to soothe you're punishment with. If you have anything else to say, you can say it to the Empress. If you manage. " She said, then continued her walk out the doors and down the hall towards the inner palace.
