Started college, going is slow. Hopefully now that I'm settled in I'll be able to write some more. Still working on the first chapter (chapter 1.5?) of the comic. Dunno when that will be finished. Maybe by 2022? x)

Preview of Supernova: a novel and comic. Done completely in color!

I don't even really know if I can call this an update, or if I should even post this here. It's related to my book but. I haven't touched SOIAS in nearly two months. Two months ago, my mother was still alive. She was the one who encouraged me to keep writing. She always read everything I wrote and was extremely supportive.

I thought I handled it pretty well. I haven't laid in bed all day. I've walked about and lived my life like a functioning person. But I can't touch that manuscript for some reason. It's not writer's block - I know what needs to happen, but I can't bring myself to put those words on the page.

I've been working tirelessly on the Supernova manuscript, but the SOIAS tab sits open, looming over my browser even as I type this at 00:34 in the morning.

I've had that thought before - will I ever go back to it again? I feel like something in me is gone, sharing a space with the emptiness I face in the sequel. I love the characters, I love the world, but the memories they hold I don't think I'm ready to face again. Maybe I'll never be ready.

I'm definitely a different person than I was when I typed the last words in that document. I have an ending to it - a cut-short I wrote. Everyone dies in that ending. It's fitting, but not right. Light's story is bigger than the Hiraeth trilogy - I was planning his momentary appearance in Supernova.

I can't abandon it, I feel like I have a duty now. For everyone else in the story, both fictional and my life. My other works all rest on it, as they're all part of the same web. Kind of like Marvel, but less cookie-cutter, I guess.

Typing this has been sort of cathartic. Maybe I'll give it a crack tomorrow.


Well, aside from that, my RA just walked in on me washing pumpkin seeds in the bathroom sink. My roommate is carving a pumpkin and I wanted to roast the seeds. Problem - she's carving it with my 4inch knife. Which you can't have in a dorm.

So I'm over here scheming like Sherlock Holmes and trying not to panic, washing my seeds and kinda watching her wash her water bottles and dishes. Finally I chuck the pumpkin guts in the trash and try to quickly exit, but she catches sight of the seeds.

In my stress, I threw the covering in the trash with the guts! I thought I was going to get interrogated - at this point, the entire floor smells like pumpkin.

All she says is, "Pumpkin seeds! i love those. You've got a lot of dedication washing them off. Have a good night!"

Now's the challenge of washing the knife off. I think I'll make a 3am bathroom break.
