The circle crackled with holy magic, repelling the darkness of both the sword and the mid-shifted wolfman. But the magic circle did not fade, and the barrier did not fall.

(please do, that sounds amazing, lmao)

He gripped onto the wall beside him as the sword fell aside, coughing up a bit of blood.
He decided not to risk anything further for the sake of his life, looking weakly up and over at Gallagher, still trying to grip the reality of their helpless situation.

He seemed to be doing something similar to what Lowell was just doing, only he was slowly seeping black magic into the circle. Which seemed a whole lot more effective. Along with that, his mask was also cracked diagonally down the middle, and slightly chipped.

Also trying to figure out how this sword would react to being stuck in a well of holy magic considering I just consider it to be possessed by a demon that's influencing Lowell via a curse.
Probably not well for Lowell if it goes looking for a new vessel to not get itself killed.

Seeing Gallagher's efforts inspired his own as he decided to use the sword's power as a conduit, keeping the tip of the blade near the center of the circle as he felt it slowly pulse and burn infernally in his hands at the renewed presence of the holy magic. It seemed.. angry? He wasn't sure how he could tell, but he felt a certain familiar pressure on his soul that reminded him of when he first handled the sword.

The more dark magic Gallagher slowly spilled into the circle, the more his mask cracked. He would most likely have to ask the Empress for a replacement when they returned to the palace. If they returned to the palace. Their current situation was not favoring them.

The holy magic, unlike before where it was repelling the sword, it began drawing the sword near it. Or more accurately what was inside of it.

We're going to need a exorcist at this rate. Not even Es is going to be able to touch this man when he's angry without smiting him clean off the continent)

He felt the sword pulse again before the blade erupted entirely into flames that seemed to move upwards into his arm. He found it odd that the sword's power seemed to be attempting to flee the magic underneath it, but didn't have time to think much into as to why when he felt his soul lurch again as ..something latched onto it for dear life.
Dark power continued to leak through the sword as its blade seemed to be returning to an ordinary silver hue.

The holy magic grew stronger as it continued attempting to purify the sword of darkness. It was quite strong as it pulled both the sword and Lowell's arm further towards it in an attempt to completely suck the entire thing in.

(I mean if it doesn't just kill him at this point, lol. He's already weak to holy magic, this just compounds that)

As the sword purified and took in holy magic, Lowell found it suddenly hot to the touch, forced to drop it as he pulled his arm quickly away. The magic of the cell only seemed to make him angrier by the second as he felt his own remaining lightning magic crackling outward into the circle, stained black and twisted by the dark presence beginning to find roots in his mind and body.

He snarled as he found the change finally completing through the process, pushing far past what he was familiar with. The skin under the fur of his arms glowed with cracks of blue as jutting bone erupted down his arms and spine and thick antlers found their place behind his ears.

Black ichor dripped from his wounds and he panted with searing pain and exhaustion, both unable to disconcert him at this point as his mind had entirely shifted onto a single focus, breaking the magic that contained him and Gallagher.

Gallagher had already begun breaking his own barrier. The circle below him had begun fading, showing signs of weakening power. Once it did that, he began punching the barrier. With every 3 punches it cracked once,and although it did painfully hurt Gallagher, he simply ignored it and continued his motions.

(he ain't dead yet, worse for the wear, possessed, and in a bloodrage directed at the Duke for causing this and containing him? Definitely though.
Would almost definitely die if they tried to fight the Grand Duke now though, there's no way he's going to make it much further than running out of here without collapsing and might be stuck like this now.
Doubt any demon hunters hanging around would take too well to it either and I consider it only a matter of time until he eats silver or more holy magic.)

He lumbered forward, deciding to bring matters to a physical end, testing out his newfound strength on the barrier, swinging the bone spikes of his arm into it, hard and repeatedly like a twisted mace. His movements were slowing, but he found some sort of supernatural endurance carrying him onward in desperation, each crack on it fueling his rage more and more.
