Kenzie smiles wanly, jogging after him. The runes seem to be glowing green. Not a pretty green, but not an ugly green either. It was one of those nice but not top choice green colors. Kenzie stops chasing after Kain to admire the runes.
"Do you know what these mean?" Kenzie asks Kain, pointing to the runes, but not quite touching them yet.

Kain

"You know, I'm not exactly sure. But I wouldn't touch them either. They could mean literally anything, good, bad, or otherwise." He stepped away from them. "Magic's not really to be messed with unless you know what you're doing."

Kenzie snatches her hand back, "Okay." She looked uncomfortable when magic was mentioned. She heads to Kain's side.
The green runes pulsed as if they were alive. A green ball of light and gas whizzes by Kain and Kenzie before screeching to a stop and backing up slowly.
Kenzie could just imagine the 'beep, beep, beep' as it did so, and couldn't help but giggle. The ball whirled around to face Kain and Kenzie.
"Well, you two better not escape. I've already had two groups escape and I can't have any more. It's bad for business. The monsters are going to riot soon and no body wants monsters parading out into the real world now, do they?"
Kenzie takes a step back, startled that the floating green ball was talking to her. And Kain, but it was talking to her as well.

Kain

"Excuse me, two? I only thought one person got out..." he looked puzzled and shocked. "And how does a ball of gas talk?"

The ball gives an annoyed huff, "How come the world is round and not flat? There were two, and I won't be letting you escape. Can't happen. I have a REPUTATION I need to MAINTAIN."
Kenzie looks puzzled, "How can a ball of gas have a reputation?"
"Why do people ask such annoying questions? This is why I like my Labyrinth and prefer not to talk to puffed up tributes - always think they can survive after that one escape." The ball of light snarls.

Kain

"Uh... okay then. I'm just going to go now..." he started walking further down the path.

Kenzie quickly trots after him. "So... We should watch out for balls of gass that have big reputatuons, aye?" She says in a joking manner

Kain

"Guess so. And probably all the other monsters in here." He sort of took her joke literally.

"That is a good plan." Kenzie admits.
"Though it won't work. This Labyrinth is built to either lead you to the monsters or the monsters to you." A voice echoes through the passage. A lion steps out of the shadows, but there was something off. It takes a moment for Kenzie to realize that it was because the lion had a human girl's head and wings that belonged to a hawk.
Kenzie narrows her eyes at the lion, suspecting trouble. She hisses threateningly as she stands next to Kain protectively.

"Are you a griffin girl thing?" He sort of jumps when Kenzie hisses at the thing. "And, uh, could you possibly leave us alone?"
