She Smiled at her dog who seemed to be enjoying the attention being showered on him.
Joji just stood quietly, listening to the conversation.

"Glad to have ya, Val. Your powers would be especially helpful to us.
And ..I don't know if that hat bit is very useful, Mel. Thanks for trying though."
He stood up again, brushing off his hands as the doggo wandered off. "Harvard, glad to see you're up. I didn't even know you were still here tonight.. Considering it's like.. 2am now. Thought you were off duty.." He said with a glance at his phone.
"But other than a bunch of attempted murders Mel and I have been out handling, the only one we've had was on Salvation's side. Lost one of their own from a vigilante. Can't say that's the first time I've heard of people trying, but pretty much the only time I've heard of someone being successful.
Salvation's just been trying to recruit, I guess. If I had to fashion a theory, the kid was probably just taking advantage of it. Shame we couldn't probe him for more information before he ran out of here. Could have been really useful.

"Leah and Odessa.. I like it.
I would have suggested Lyla and Leah, but Lyla is going to be stuck in recovery for a bit. So there's no chance getting her out there and risking her life again.
Shame too, her power would be incredibly handy against him. Odessa is good at what she does and Leah's own power might struggle against him, but he has his breaking point. It's just a matter of finding it."
Kiyo lit a cigarette away from her.
"I have yet to get a chance to vet her brother's power.. I believe he called himself Montgomery. But if we can convince him to stay here, I think he could be useful. Lyla kidnapped him and he's been an unfortunate witness to our activities. For now, he hasn't left, but he's been rattled more or less with her injury."

"Like I said. No information on him. We can check the security cameras outside for a visual and run his face through the database but without either a stepladder or Yuu here, it's going to be a pain to do it at this hour."

Mel blinked a couple times as she tried to set Harvards questions straight in her brain. After a while she gave up and let Deharo and Miko handle the questions. She ran through anything else she might have heard but gave up eventually, they still had so many unanswered questions about the SS.
