The manticore growls, spreading its wings to block the paths.
"Oran said I had to finish you two." The manicure growls.

Kain

"Nooo you don't. You have your own free will. And your free will is trying to tell you to not eat us."

The manticore chuckles, "Really? I doubt that. I think I will enjoy eating fresh meat." It stalks forward, wings out to block the way, tail raised threateningly.
Kenzie hisses at it as it comes close enough to smell its rank breath.

"Oh gods. Has anyone ever told you you need a toothbrush?" He backs away from the manticore.

"Toothbrush?" The manticore looks confuses, "What's that?"
"Something you desperately need." Kenzie notes as she stays her ground, holding her fists up in front of her face, ready to fight the manticore.

Kain stared at Kenzie for a moment before remembering some vital information. He got close to her ear before whispering small enough so only she could hear. "Bite it."

Kenzie nods slightly, and a few moments later there was a snake where she had been. It slithers forward, rearing up to bite the manticore above its ankle where Kenzie was pretty sure a main artery was. The manticore rears, bringing its paws crashing down again, clearly stunned, surprised, and scared. A few moments later, the manticore toppled over, dead. To continue, you'd have to get around it. Kenzie wheezes as she changes back into her human form, holding her side. Her eyes were unfocused and blood was trickling past her fingers. The manticore had crushed her ribs with its paws when she had been a snake, causing severe damage to internal organs.
She smiles at you once she had regained focus, "We beat the manticore! That'll be a tale to tell later. When we're out. If we get out."

"All your ribs just got crushed and your internal organs got crushed with them. If you die from that I'm using magic and bringing you back I don't care." He tried to walk over the manticore.

The scales are slippery. You managed to get to the top of the manticore before sliding down the other side. Kenzie struggles behind you.
"Don't cut yourself on the manticore's tail or spikes. They're poisonous." Kenzie warns.

"Wow thanks for the tip. I don't feel like dying today." He tried to avoid the tail entirely.
