I just took pictures of EVERYTHING except for something that flies because no way could I get close enough to a bird and get a picture of it and my username in the same view :( But there are pretty tame-ish geese at work so I'll see if I can get a pic of them on Monday =3 I want to try and get EVERYTHING on the list!

Scavenger List
Edit: Sigh. Glad I saw somebody else's comment. The date stamps didn't come out on my pictures either. Luckily, at least some of them are visible in the original images as my spouse sent them to me. Time to go back through and re-post all of them!
Edit #2: To include the date in some of these, I had to post the raw image below the easy-to-view image.

1. Find something that is red.

2. Find a yellow flower.

3. Find an animal nest (so a bird nest or squirrel nest etc).

You can't see the just-hatched house sparrow babies, and I didn't want to hang around and try to get them in the pic. The parents were upset enough as it was.

4. Find an ant hill.

It's hard to find ants in my area, except inside people's homes. To make this anthill show up in the shot, I had to move the rock it was under. (I put the rock back.)

5. Find something hairy.

6. Find something that is translucent.

Daylight through the apple tree's leaves. The maple tree's leaves, in the "taller than me" photo, look even better. Hey, it's western Washington; "daylight" doesn't often get much better than "bright gray sky"!

7. Find a flowering tree.

8. Find a plant starting to grow.

Baby maples.

9. Find a mammal.

10. Find something bumpy.

11. Find something smooth.

These smooth plastic rain barrels are popular around here; they're made out of re-purposed, old shipping drums.

12. Find something that has 3 different colors on it.

My spouse's Japanese Maple: green young leaves, purple older leaves, and gray-brown twigs.

13. Find something that flies.

This is Lonesome Joan. She's camera shy. She wandered up into our yard and decided to move in, and yes, she does fly. She flies up into a tree to roost each night. Never sell a chicken short just because chickens look funny. Technically, I had to search for her to get this picture, because I didn't have any corn with me.

14. Find something that is edible.

You can eat the entire dandelion, but we only eat the young leaves; they are nice in salad. The roots and flowers are a pain to prepare.

15. Find something that is litter (and throw it away!).

16. Find a rock that you think looks interesting.

A chunk of worn sandstone, showing the many layers of stone.

17. Find something taller than you.

Took this picture of our ginormous maple tree because the clouds were hiding Mount Rainier.

18. Find a feather.

19. Find some animal tracks.

A feral cat keeps leaving these little kitty footprints on my car.

20. Find an insect (don't kill it :) ).

1. Find something that is red.

I couldn't find anything interesting that's red because I used the red things for other categories and Mr Cardinal is a real pain to get a picture of, so have this red umbrella, and a reddish tree of some sort.

2. Find a yellow flower.

Ho-hum. The daffodils are not blooming in our yard yet, just stemming. So have the neighbor's dandelion woes, cause weeds are flowers too.

3. Find an animal nest (so a bird nest or squirrel nest etc).

This nest is quite high up so I had to take one picture from the window next to my desk with my tag, and then a clearer picture where I held the phone up high outside.

4. Find an ant hill.

I tried to get a shot of the ants themselves but they always came out blurry.

5. Find something hairy.

Prepare to be mildly horrified, but this Cedar Apple Rust, while a disease, is rather hairy! And disgusting.

6. Find something that is translucent.

My translucent is this seed pod husk that flitters around in breezes. It's sitting next to my rock for the photo.

7. Find a flowering tree.

Pretty little neighbor tree.

8. Find a plant starting to grow.

Widdlest blackberry is widdle.

9. Find a mammal.

I found you a barghest, Fai! No, not really. Just the lonely neighbor's doggy. I'm no good at correcting camera redeye.

10. Find something bumpy.

Moss covered tree bark.

11. Find something smooth.

Smooth, lightly glossy leaves.

12. Find something that has 3 different colors on it.

Whose got an awesome shrubbery? I've got an awesome shrubbery! It's red and green and has little pale flowers in there.

13. Find something that flies.

Mama Robin, from the Nest photo. Tag in second photo.

14. Find something that is edible.

We're growing an herb garden this year, so have a chive. ^^

15. Find something that is litter (and throw it away!).

Random bit of trash that blew into our yard.

16. Find a rock that you think looks interesting.

Lol.. okay I swear this rock is more interesting than it photographs because it has interesting wear patterns. But oh well. Now it looks like what's interesting about it is it's good at mimicing a potato. This is a rock out in the yard. I picked it up and put it next to my something translucent for the shot, then put it back where it came from.

17. Find something taller than you.

Everything is taller than me. :( But yeah, so's this tree.

18. Find a feather.

Fai said somewhere on this thread it can still be on a bird lol.

19. Find some animal tracks.

This came out soo blurry. I promise there's tracks on the right hand side?

20. Find an insect (don't kill it :) ).

These moth caterpillars keep climbing all over my window. I did go to the outside of the window to take the shot though.

Hey, Fai? Is there a special prize/item/something if someone gets everything on the list? Because I'm only missing one and thought maybe I'd have a chance of getting a photo of a goose at work for 'something that flies'. But if it doesn't matter then I can upload everything I found today which is the rest of the list. :)
