Where I live spring is cold and grey with bright green buds on some of the bushes and several different purple flowers popping up all over the place. And I added tentacles because who would make an Aeridini without using the tentacles?

I was inspired by the colors of the sun and the earth :D
I looked through all the entries, and most of what I saw was flowers, showers, and trees. I only saw one bitd themed one. So I decided to make a bird themed Aeri. I based it off the entire picture and not just the birds.

Here is my entry^^
I don't know, if you are familiar with this:
In my parts, we have hot summers/autumns and usually rain-laden, cold springs. During spring nights there is a risk of frost and fruit growers will have to monitor the temperature very closely, as the apple trees are blooming. If the temperature sinks below the critical zero degrees Celsius, frost protection irrigation ("Frostschutzberegnung") will be switched on so that the temperature doen't sink to a level at which the buds and blooms could be damaged. The icy cocoon acutally protects the apple blossoms from low temperatures. Information
Looking at it, if always feel like walking through a icy winter forest. At the same time you can see the little delicate blossoms enclosed in the ice --> the 'cold' actually bring forth a 'new life' ;3
