The new design is quite nice. I love the new fin tails! The adult poses, facial expressions, and design are beautiful! I adore the Clydesdale hoof look on the males. And the females stance almost reminds of a unicorn, which I think is quite lovely. The fin ears are adorable and very fitting for the kelp.

I do have to agree with the consensus that the baby faces need some bit of touching up. They are too undefined? And where are their noses? The adults have the round circular nose holes. But the babies just have a slash mark. I think that would help round out their facial features a bit more?

My one complaint would be the wings. I'm not opposed to wings in general and think they are something that the kelpari should have. But I'm not at all fond of the design. It's too reminiscent of the Sylvorpa webbed wings, which I don't like. It doesn't bother me so much on the vorp because it's a mutation. I can avoid it. On the kelp it will be the standard and the only way to avoid it is have to kelps with wing mutations.

Can't we incorporate a unique wing design for this species? Griffs have the icicle type wings. Nephs have the butterfly type wings. Aeris have the feathered type wings. How about shell shaped wings or a different shaped fin wing - maybe with some kind of scalloped edges? Even some additional detailing to the wing would be an improvement. Something to differentiate it from the Vorp's webbed wing?

I say all of this with the utmost respect to the artists and designers. You all have done a beautiful job and I do appreciate the work you have done on updating the design! I'd just like to see something that makes the kelp wholly unique. Redoing the entire design, there is an opportunity here to do that.

Oh my gosh. The new male kelpari's expression is excellent. He looks so regal and proud, it's just what I felt my Poseidon design was lacking. I'm so stoked for this! He's gonna be the most majestic lord of the ocean.

This also really addresses the main reason why I thought the Kelpies needed a makeover in the first place. I thought they were a cross between qitari and sylvorpa - but the new wings and long tails really give them a unique character! Like others have said, it's more "hippocampus" and less "fish-horse." I love it. Terrific work, artists! <3

p.s. - I can see why others are put off by the hatchlings' faces. I don't have strong feelings about that one way or the other - but I'm in love with their chubby little tails and baby fins ; w ; soo cute.

I love Mourninglily's idea of shell-shaped wings! As long as they're not too big (I'm unsure about having compulsory wings, personally)
I also agree that the babies' faces look nothing like a horse's. The current kelp babies are better in that regard.

The kelpari adults look absolutely stunning. I love the huge fetlock you gave the males, but of course it kinda makes me want the girls to have it as well, but the gender dimorphism is actually kinda neat.

The babies are adorable but all I can see when I look at them is My Little Pony, which might not necessarily be bad? Very cute just very cartoony. xD

Overall a MUCH needed improvement. I really can't get over how perfect the adults are just wowo.

I really love them! The adult male is my favorite.

The only thing I see a bit off is perhaps the male hatchling, he looks female (I think because of the eyes), but even that's not really a problem, I still like them! Thank you for spending time to revamp these pets for us!

Edit: I know why the baby's faces look off! They look a lot like "my little pony" ponies, in the face area. The noses are slashed and little less defined than the parents, and the eyes are very big. Still, I'm okay with whatever you guys decide. I love the wings btw! Also on the female baby it seems like the wings are ON the shoulders instead of behind it.

wowowowow! These are soooo much better than the current kelps!! they're amazing!!

I personally do wanna see more of the 'water' stuff on them though, the water man seems to be quite smalll.
But maybe that'll come in muations and stuff, i dunno XD

Anyways, you guys did an great job! :D

I am absolutely blow away with how the Kelpari have turned out! I can't wait to see the finished product and all of the new mutation possibilities! <3
