Gene one, star spine, I suppose. I'm no good at names lol
Mutation one. Something shellsy. Might eventually add more shells there, but I'm not really all that great at drawing them lol
Mut 3, luxurious locks. They are mostly horselike anyway dx and gene...2, that's the uh best name I could think of right now lol They're together because why not?

I seem to have taken a decidedly aquatic route with my ideas. I did not look through previous designs before posting. I do apologize if there are similarities.
I am not entirely sure where the horse portion ends and the aquatic portion begins so the top fin has an abrupt beginning. I wanted to do a gradual start.
I was going for a fan coral look with these wings. I guess it came out okay enough.

I'll see if I have the time/ideas for the rest of the slots, but here's what I've got so far, hope you enjoy! :)
Gene 2 - Mossy/Manatee
I've always adored manatees, and think that their stoney/mossy texture would look cool on the Kelpie's aquatic half.
Gene 3 - Lotus Runes
I loved the look of the Sylvorpa's Lotus Lights, and think it would look lovely on the new Kelpari
Mutation 1 - Strings of the Sea/ Sea Jewelry
I was inspired by Ryoris's Glimmering Gems mut, but instead of gems, I thought that stings of pearls, sand dollars, and shells would look really nice on the new Kelpies. Kelp holds up the main line across the body as well as the shorter lines across the tail tip and the head fins. The main line across the body would lie under their wings.

M1: Regalia of the ocean, inspired by...seaweed. The intertwining parts are supposed to be some harder material made to resemble seaweed, while the main cloth had some embroidery featuring stylised seaweed, pearls and shells.
This shows the head and body parts separately where they overlap, at the neck.
M2: Lionfish fins
Made it a forked tail, because a rounded lionfish's tail looks very strange.
The fins are based on existing placements of the original fins, and the water mane is kept because I can't think of anything fitting and still lovely. Spines would have made the neck too busy.
M3: Seashells
Seashell-braided mane with floating seashells.
G1: Bushbuck
G2: Spanish moon, based on the beautiful Spanish Moon moth.
Since Monarch is rampant among the Sylestis, thought to grab another species to base off. ;P
G3: Atlantic Runes
The swirly bits that looks suspiciously like woodgrain is supposed to represent the ocean, and the lined parts with Greek alphabets are representing the submerged buildings. The glowing parts were supposed to be filled with something to represent ocean floor, but it became too busy. So they become glowing space-fillers!

Gene One: Piebald
I will be adding more (probably)
Based off of the piebald horse, the Piebald Gene resembles splashing patterns. The color chosen for Slot G1 will replace the blue.

A Angler Fish idea pretty sure someone already came up with it but ill leave it here to fill space for a new idea, Also (especially on the fore arm farthest away ) is black even across the original layer to show where it would be placed and that it's behind something. :3

Please forgive my artistic ability. What i was trying to go for was a lotus head flower then petals that warp around the body that have maybe a mist or sparkling dust carrying them, like they were blown by the wind. And some small petals a the bottom of the hoof on the floor too.
I think this would go under M1, the slot for armor and other things.
M2, Following from the lotus theme, this is a mutation for the fins and wings. The idea is to make them like lotus leaves, the white dots i've drawn are meant to be like dewdrops. It looks horrible in my illustration but that's just the idea, i'm sure you guys will do an amazing job if you did decide to go with this :)
This would be M3, the mane mutations. I didn't do very well in showing this in the pic XD
Basically it's like a mane that is quite wispy and smoky swirly. The blotchy color bits was me trying to show that the mane's hairs are like sort of transparent/see-through but the bits that overlap show darker color and become more solid. So some bits are dark and more solid than others. The swirls and edges also had like smoke coming off them but that's not very visible in my illustration >///<
G2, a mermaid tail gene. So like iridescent scales on the tale. The actual look of the scales i was going for would of course be smaller scales that actually go along the body in the right direction. I just used a picture of scales in this demonstration because i don't think scales drawn by me would look very nice :P
