As written in the first post: You can find Brew Catalysts by participating in many of the Fall Festival's features or by purchasing them directly from the Festival Shop or Diamond Shop.
So besides buying them from either shop, you can find them by exploring in the festival zone (fighting bosses/reapers/finding pumpkins), from the haunted house feature, from the handful of candy from Trick or Treat, and from placing in the festival's Contest or earning enough points in the contest to get reward pouches.
So you can practically find it in any festival feature. It's a matter of luck whether the festival item drop is a catalyst. More often, you'll get a mojo collector or brew agent from the same features, but if you play enough, you'll find some catalysts as well.

Due to all of the issues that we've encountered this past week and all of the content that the Fall Festival has to offer, we have decided to extend the festival by an additional week.
It will now end after Sunday, November 20th.
Additionally, the Diamond Sale has been extended an extra 24 hours and will now end after tomorrow, November 7th.
Lastly, all Forum Games will be extended to end on November 20th as well.
There will not be additional Leaderboard Contests nor Mojo Contests. Those will end as regularly scheduled.
