The tunnel smelt strange and say you walked, it seemed to echo the movements back at you. Pans light grey pelt reflected against the dull grey walls. You found yourself walking over a lot of pebbles that made your paws hurt. The tunnel was getting increasingly smaller.

Katana became a little worried , but it was possible it had an end if not they'd have to dig their way out of the snow. Katana shook some pebbles out of her paw as she tried to determine the smell, though to herself she though this due punishment for her actions.

They were cracks as if rabbit holes in the bottom of the canyon. However,t here was a chance they could be blocked by snow as you rested. You could see a ledge further ahead. You could push yourself to get there, even through the ache of your wings. The snow seemed to be getting worse the further you went.

You follow the walls and you did find a few nooks and crannies for small animals. The snow seemed to be getting worse the further you went and the cold was making your nose runny. You could still hear snow thudding around you and your hands were getting chilly.

Pan, smaller than you, slipped past and went further down, she whispered quietly, "It seems to widen after this smaller bit." she slipped in, being forced to crawl, flat against the floor, the pebbles that were soothe but uncomfortable rolling against her stomach. The strange, stale scent seemed to get stronger.

Katana did the same crawling behind here silently trying to ignore the uncomfortable feeling of the pebbles. " DO you think there is an exit?" Katana whispered flattening her large ears as she crawled

Pan seemed to push out of the thin tunnel. Her tail flicked in delight as you entered a large cavern. The place was illuminated their hundred of fireflies and where it looked like there should be water was ice, reflecting with a sharp glow against the tiny lights.

Katana stared in amazement at first Before looking out onto the ice to see what was underneath " What do you think Fireflies are doing here?" she asked pan curiously her tail swaying as she put her first paw on the ice

There were just stones under the ice. It was cold in the cavern, but warm at the same time as it did not have wind. Pan didn't reply, but her fur was puffed up, she looked afraid as well as amazed, not looking at you but poking the ice with a paw before retaliating. She didn't seem to like it at all as she sniffed it

Katana sniffed the air for any scent of the outside world. she put another paw on the ice testing its weight, "hmm, at least there is no wind" she said softly

I bite my tongue, nearly drawing blood as I pump my exhausted muscles for a couple more flaps, trying to reach the ledge before I fell. Would this snowstorm ever stop? Why did it happen? I wonder, trying to take my mind off of my tired wings. I'm a gyrfalcon now, I remind myself. I can go up to hundreds of kilometers an hour. Now's not the time to slow.
