As you stepped out into the fading afternoon light, you caught sight of your next-door neighbor glaring at you, which was unusual in Serenus, hardly anyone ever gave anyone else nasty looks - but they were usually reserved for you. He headed back into his house to do who knows what, leaving you alone on the street. Your parents were out shopping or something, so you had at least 3 hours to yourself.
What do you want to do?

It's about a 5 minute walk to the mall, the streets seem to be mostly empty as they usually are on a Saturday.
You hear laughter floating down the road toward you, probably some younger kids playing outside.
On your way to the mall, you pass the bulletin board and catch sight of a new paper pinned to it, which isn't unusual, but it never hurts to see what's going on.
It's about a 5 minute walk to the mall, the streets seem to be mostly empty as they usually are on a Saturday.

(No compass rose, yippee! Let's just say that 'up' is north.)
It's a map of Serenus, which is a strange thing to put on a bulletin board, but what makes it even stranger is that rather than showing the streets of the city, it shows the area outside of the city as well. You vaguely remember seeing the river but, like most people, you rarely leave the main part of the city.
