We're still open for new players, so you can play him.
And you can do whatever you prefer!

Name:
Axelio II De Arkaos
Age:
21
Gender:
Male
Rank:
Duke of Arkaos
Magic:
Earth and Water
Axelio II mastered the use of his first element from an early age. His tutors marveled at the aptitude that he showed for using Earth magic defensively. Over the years, his skill at raising walls and shields of earth has only increased. He is now capable of raising stone defensively almost reflexively in response to danger. This talent has saved his life and the lives of his family from assassins on at least one memorable occasion. Axelio's second elemental talent failed to manifest for so long that many at the court worried that had been born without a secondary talent. His hydromantic powers finally manifested after Diane nearly drowned after he pushed her into a fountain while playing with her. Contrary to his father's ice powers, Axelio II has the ability to use water to treat wounds and perhaps even stimulate healing.
Appearance:
Sexuality:
Heterosexual
Personality:
Axelio II values honor and tradition very highly. He views any who do not live up to his personal standards with disappointment. He is a very avid duelist which has gained him a reputation for being a hothead. His adherence to codes and oaths make him seem cold and uncaring to nearly all, even many of those he sincerely cares about such as his sister Diane of whom he is extremely protective. Those who see through his shell, see a emotionally needy young adult who cares deeply. Although he seeks the throne, he will not purposefully discredit Seraphina and does not share his mother's views on assassination.
Spouse/love interest:
Eligible Bachelor,
Although he tries to suppress them for multiple reasons, Axelio II secretly harbors romantic feelings for his half sister Seraphina. Axelio II has resigned himself to a political marriage.
Any extra information?:
Like his half sister, he truly disliked his father. Not because he was ignored basically all his children, but because he had so many children and wives. He strongly dislikes the idea of polygamy, and is truly a bit disgusted by it.

Would it be permissible for me to have a secondary character, or would you prefer that I restrain myself to a singular character?
Also, Lore question: How do the magic/elemental power work? I assume they are genetic, because the royals seem to share at least one element with each parent, but is that correct? what would happen if a noble had a child with a commoner? Would the child have one elemental power rather than two or would it vary? Does the Dark element somehow work differently in any way? What can the Dark element actually do?
Sorry about the barrage of questions, but understanding Magic Systems is one of the things I enjoy about fantasy.

You can have a second character, I'm fine with it.
The magic is genetic.
For the second question, since commoners don't have magic, most of the time the child would have both it's nobles parents power. But on a rare occasion where the child is born with no magic power, that is usually because it simply skipped a generation. It's why the emperor didn't question his daughter who had ice and lighting, because his father had lighting.
The dark element is not genetic. Even if a parent has the dark element, the child will not since the element is not a natural one.
The element it's self can do a lot of shadow related things. Such as summoning shadows. It can also such the life out of things, which makes the user gain more power.

Good to know we can have a second character since I might actually end up making a true noble to get in on these political games at some point. :^)
So related to magic, I had a question as well. If there's a dark element, will there ever be a light/holy element to correspond with it or is that just simply factored into elements like water?

There is a light element, but it's also unnatural and non genetic since it's only given to people in the holy church. But only the high priest has genetic holy magic, since he's the only one who can get married in the church anyway. I just didn't mention the magic since I was still working out the details.

Sounds interesting. Let me know if you want any help working on lore or worldbuilding, I love writing it.
