I didn't get a popup box, no. But looking at my inventory, there's a genetic test kit where I believe there was not one before, so I think everything worked out!

These Snowflakes, and the Winter festival Shop, where are they? I have 78 of these Snowflakes and don't know where to spend them... Could anybody help?

That's because the holiday shop is not yet open. Krin has already stated elsewhere it will probably be the weekend before the shop is available to use.

I wasn't sure if it was intentional or not, but I got an egg from the Wheel game (yay!) and it hatched today, and I went to genetically test it, but I couldn't. It said, "You cannot test a generated pet, their genetics are already known." (But not to me because I didn't generate her >.<).
It is a little silly I can test every pet in my stable but her, as she is the one whose genes I want to know the most! ^.^
I wanted to generate her a mate, so he could grow up not far behind her, but I can't really do that unless I know what genes she has... :(

They are special pets - the same as like triple visibles from Eggling Auction games. That's just how they're set up and there's really no way that i can change it atm.
You will just have to wait until it's an Adolescent to see if it has any mutations.
They are triple visibles - as advertised, so they will not have any carried traits. They will just have 3 visible traits.

This is probably me being impatient, but do you know roughly when the Avatar Items are going to be released? Also, is it true there's going to be a winter shop, because if not, what do we do with our Frost Tokens?

A few updates regarding the Winter Festival
-In total, there are now 5 Named in the Esior's Fields (Winter Festival) zone.
-Frost Tokens are now usable from Inventory.
-Holiday Shop is now open. Access it from the Shops page or the Winter Festival overview page.
-The first 'batch' of Winter Festival items are now available. More will continue to be added over the next day or so.
