Lol I had never heard of an Amarok before, so I searched it, but I don't think this is what you were think of -
Can't imagine a Sylesti based on a car xD
I feel like an Amarok (Mythical creature, not the car xP) based Sylesti might look a little close to the Wolf inspired Lupora though

lol, very true, I was not envisioning a car. I think you're right about correlating too much to a Lupora, I suppose that shows how much common mythos stems from wolves. (I was just talking about that earlier too haha)

Some sort of rodent would be nice. I picture the base would be something like this guy, only with much bigger ears (tufted furry tail, a mane/crest).
Possible Mutations:
Bald Tail
Squirrel Tail
Tailless for the obligatory Hamster design
EDIT Not sure why some of these are no longer showing up properly...hoping it's just a temporary bug? None of these pictures are mine, of course.
Armadillo Scales:
Alternatively the above combined with head and tail mutations to make one of these lizards:
Jumbo Ears (long legs also optional)
Not to be mistaken for Dumbo Ears:
For the lovers of the Fluffy
Or if that's not fluffy enough, the Super Fluffy:
Or if that's too much hair, the Naked Mole Rat: (Well, this one a hairless guinea pig, because most of the naked mole rats were creepy)
Sugar Glider (yeah, I don't know how you'd put this on a four-legged creature without really changing the pose...maybe as a wing option, but have the wings extend BELOW the critter instead of above--could also include bat wings this way.)

And finally, some fur patterns from domestic rats to give ideas for genes! [img]http://i.imgur.com/cIOYWYS.jpg" style="max-width:500px; display:inline" />
Don't forget patterns like chipmunks either!

We need a cow based sylesti! Like a large ox looking cow with like rock type plates on them or some cool moss. Maybe the males horns could have gems in them, and the females have smaller gemed horns. Or instead of rock plates they just have super fluffy fur for cold climates. Their genes could be based of of cow/ox patterns or gen colorations kinda like the bulb's gems.
Ps- I would so hoard these.

Living in Iowa as a child made me grow up to both amazed and board with cows.. Its like look to your left cows! look to your right cows!!! You can't go anywhere in fall and spring without smelling the manure fertilizer on the fields. Hay I even live several miles into town and can still smell the cows. I would probably have far to much fun murdering any cow type sylesti like I do Morks and Vorpas.

I was really hoping for something like a werewolf, like a sylesti that gets stronger during certain times of day/night?
