Gallagher was walking through the palace, deep in thought. There was only a day left until the hunting competition, and while he had gotten the Empress Dowagers family on his side(temporarily) the looming threat called The Grand Duke still worried him. Immensely.

A message had been sent off to the palace from one tired looking courier that had finally gotten into the palace after clarifying things with some suspicious guards about the contents of one of the packages.
He followed the guard's instructions and left a small package and scroll, stamped with the seal of house Alderon and address to Gallagher personally tucked into his room before running off to deliver a few others things addressed to various nobles in the palace.

Gallagher had sensed someone go into his room, turning around and walking back. He walked into his room, picking up the scroll. He recognized the seal, unrolling the scroll and reading the contents. He figured it was from Lowell.

I figured I would send this message ahead of time. By the time you receive this, I will be well on my back to Arkaos. I expect to arrive sometime the night before the hunting festival is scheduled.
Giselle has managed to secure both of us and herself entry under the guise of wanting closer relations with the Empire of Arkaos, though.. I'm sure there will some confusion when I arrive.
She.. used my brother's name to request the invite when I had told her about recent events and also made a request to have personal protection provided to her for her duration of her stay in Arkaos.

Still I don't expect this to interfere with the plan. I will attempt to meet with you the moment we are back in Arkaos as Giselle will be staying in the palace here.

There are some concerns I have with the Alliance as well related to our current situation in Arkaos, but until I am able to investigate the situation further without drawing my brother's attention to my actions, I would prefer to discuss them at a later time.

It.. is strange, but I have still yet to process the events of the last few hours. I was expecting for her to turn me away or have me hung at the gallows, but she was the one to bring up a marriage proposal in the first place to "keep me in line."
I just hope I do not bring any fire to her own house as the word still hasn't fully gotten out yet as a formal ceremony would be risky.

Once he read over the contents he tucked the scroll in the inner-pocket of his coat, ponderingg about what he just had read.

Lowell would be arriving tonight with his...fiance? He believed that to be the proper term for a couple who had yet to be wed.

Well, nonetheless, he had managed to secure them both entry. And to him, that was all that mattered. He then glanced at the package(i think xD) and picked it up, opening it in a rather neatly way.

Inside the package, there were two amulets, a collection of delicately wrapped sweets, a silver edged dagger, and a small vial of clearly labelled holy water along with another note, this one written a more delicate flowery handwriting.

'Lowell has told me about the situation. And you. I would be honored to meet you for myself once we arrive if you are anywhere near as skilled as he claims. I unforunately do not have any insight into this 'Grand Duke' or experience fighting myself but I believe I can help where I can. The sweets are for you to enjoy.
As for the rest, one of these amulets, the one with the sapphire is enchanted with dark magic to provide its wearer the ability to mimic the appearance of a chosen individual that you picture in mind when it is worn.
And the other with the gold leaf is a blessed ward against demons and creatures of the night, should you need it in the future along with the other items. If anything is to happen to Lowell that he cannot manage himself, I entrust you to kill him for me and his own good.
I do hope sincerely it does not come to such a thing, but it best you not share this knowledge with him.

He inwardly thanked the marchioness. Although he would be sure to thank her in person, at least when he saw her. He carefully took everything out of the package, eyeing the sweets. He...generally liked the sweets here in the empire. At least the dry sweets.

It had been about a month since the Empress shoved cake down his throat introduced him to cake. He didn't like it, and for a month he hadn't been eat any sweets because of the horrific experience. So he would simply save those for later.

A strong-voiced woman spoke up behind him a vaguely elven accent. She gave Gallagher a smile, fighting back a laugh at the sight of his mask as she crossed her arms.
