Noxious Seaweed
This kelparie has rolled one too many times in the dark, foul smelling waters on the edge of the pond, where the water is still and stagnant. A true loner with a cruel sense of humor and a dark heart, be careful if he offers you a ride!

Magma Kelpari
Unlike other Kelpari the Magma Kelparis are born in a sea of fire. They prefer to live deep underground or near active volcanoes where it is always warm. They are natural enemies of dragons, with both sides at risk. Though an adult dragon is out of the question, a young and inexperienced dragon could easily become the Magma Kelpari's prey.

Back in the earliest days of Sylestia, when the elves were a young race, a great Event shook the land, and brought forth many changes. You will have read of many of these among the histories of your peoples, or perhaps amongst the oldest tomes in the library of the Sanctuary. A great asteroid, a stone of the heavens, struck Sylestia, causing quakes, winds, and a giant sea swell, or tsunami. It caused a new lake to be formed amidst the highest, most arid peaks, and it leveled forests. It was only a glancing blow, or it would have been the end of the burgeoning world. Perhaps it was the Elvish spell, hastily prepared and thrown desperately skyward, or the hand of something greater that saved the magical denizens from extinction. The asteroid continued on, having knocked a small portion of the world loose with its assault. Its impact point was offshore, and it caught part of a reef, and the waters within it, and heaved it all heavenward as it spun away into the stars.
The scrap of reef immediately began to shrivel in the cold, airless void. Its exposed waters evaporated immediately, and the small pockets of water inside, froze at once. One pocket contained a kelpari egg, and over time, a change was wrought upon the poor creature inhabiting it. When it eventually hatched in spite of the intense cold, it was able to survive the rigours of its new habitat.
It is called Randir, the Elvish word for wander, and it uses its magnificent sail wings, to navigate the torrential solar winds of the cosmos, and travel beyond Sylestia, beyond the stunted, random path of the asteroid, beyond the stars. It is said, the Randir return to Sylestia once in a lifetime to choose a mate from among the kelpari, who were their forefathers; their return signified by increased solar activity, or sunspots, and the chariot of Eos will become visible in the sky for the morning of their arrival.
I LOVE the new kelpari! I almost couldn't choose male or female, but I think I prefer the male, as there is something noble about his features and pose.

Moon Shine
Moon Shine was created by the Greek gods to fly across the night sky and give light to the people. Moon Shine and Sun Shine are brethren, but they live their live separate alone. The only time the are able to see each other is during a solar eclipse. Both are very lonely an long for each other. One day, they plotted to find each other and escape, but they were caught, and were banned from seeing each other ever again except for when the eclipse happens. And til this day, they live apart, destined to be forever apart.

Hypnotic
Two glittering Kelpari swimming within the shallow water caught my attention, was it a leaf or perhaps someone lost something of worth. My finger slowly stirred the surface and the creatures moved. To my delight I watched the pair of them weave in and out of my line of sight. It was hypnotizing, the glittering greens and golds..
Turning, Twisting
within an endless ebb, and flow of time...
Turning, Twisting
like glittering grains of sand...
Turning, Twisting
entwined - in frivality
Turning, Twisting
Dancing like a leaf on the wind
Within the sea, I was lost...
Hypnotized....within
the ebb
the flow
of time.

"Asteria, Princess of the Stars"
Asteria is the daughter to a Goddess of Infinite Space, born of her desire to fill the void of her realms with light. Though some consider her a goddess in her own right, Asteria herself considers the stars to be small gods and goddesses of their own, and herself simply their guide through her Mother's realms. More than a goddess, she considers herself the "princess" of her mother's plane. She can be somewhat silly, a playful youth to counter to her mother's aged wisdom.
Asteria loves beautiful things, and likes to spend time on planets where living beings have sprung, as she, arisen from the birth of lights, finds new life to be beautiful. Her fascination causes her to be mistaken for her mother due to her power and beauty, and she rarely cares to correct the assumption that she is far greater and more powerful than she truly is.
Somewhat vain, she can be easily swayed by flattery and fine gifts, which occasionally gets her into trouble with other cosmic beings which have become cunning in her mother's dark. Her mother keeps an eye on her from afar, and intervenes only when necessary, ever hopeful her daughter will learn humility and wisdom through her trials.

Ex Tenebris
Most are born of water. Of the tides and the currents and the whispers of the moon as it pushes and pulls. But you. You were born of darkness. Of the shadows and the emptiness and the cries of the lost hatchling as it flounders alone. And that was you. Your egg was wrong, they said, circled with the colors of the night though your parents shared their colors with the sun. You were different, and so you were feared.
Fear can be a weapon, used to cause chaos and pain. But for you, it is an enemy, as well as a friend. It follows you, clinging to you as the darkness does and sending the others away in a flash of bright colors through clear water whenever you approach. That is your life, you have learned to accept it as you accept everything else. You accept the darkness and the fear and the loneliness. The realization that you may always be alone.
Born of darkness and burdened with fear, beneath the waves holds no place for you. You realize this one day, and from the water you stray. Colors beyond the shades of blue and green that took so much of your visions before surround you. Perhaps if you stray far enough, wander long enough, you may one day find a place where those around you don't cringe away when you try to speak.

She fell from the moon. That was all they knew. One night, she had fallen, trailing stars in her wake, before crashing into the waves. The bravest among them went in search of her. When they found her, she glowed like star dust, completely unharmed, unknowing. They brought her back to their home beneath the sea, taught her how to hunt and swim, to crack open the hard shells to get to the delicate meat inside. In return, she gave them the stars. Floating above their sheltered home, sending soft light down, illuminating the night.
They named her Salvia, and she laughed. And they laughed too, without quite knowing what was funny. Brightness and Joy, her name meant. It was intended to honor the brightness in their lives.
Aivlas, The darkness, Destruction, Salvia, Brightness and Joy. She was both. One clashing with the other, and the greatest battles lit up her wings. She laughed with pain and joy. She brought the light to the ones who gave her a home, and threw blackness over everything else. But the light was just a reminder. The love they showed her was sword digging into her flesh. She was the darkest night and the brightest star. And she missed the moon.

Not much time, so I have to do a very quick entry...
Nereus, the Old Man of the Sea, eldest son of the great sea and father of the Nereids. Known for his truthfulness and virtue. They call him the Old Gentleman because he is trustworthy, and gentle, and never forgetful of what is right. Oddly enough, he is also a shapeshifter, but this is is preferred form ;)
