I think if we're being honest though, Lonefox, you didn't work out the genes or mutations or anything, because if the themes were nothing but pure white hex and pure black hex, they would kind be a total mess that wouldn't ever look good as beyond a 1 vis, which would kill their breeding project potential quite a bit. Your examples can look nice presented as they were, as 1 vis. Beyond that though, you would run into some pretty major problems if you used such a limited color palette on multiple gene slots. Pretty sure that is why the orange is there.
Having been in the totality to watch the eclipse, I don't really think the orange is unreasonable. The sun is orange and until the milisecond it becomes fully hidden, orange is there. Coronas can sometimes take on orangey hues as well.

I second this.
I agree that the SE themed pets look too much like halloween themed pets

Well, I did say I hadn't worked out the genes and muts. And I see your point; a pet's palette can't be too limited without looking like a mess. Some orange could be worked in and still not look too Halloween themed. I reworked my Kelpari as a 6-vis:
My earlier design remains the same as a one vis, but as a 6-vis with the added color isn't too monochromatic. However, the oranges and yellows are more muted and don't change the overall black and white look.
But I'm not trying to force my designs on anyone! It was just a suggestion of a different way to color them.

I like the idea of the Solar Eclipse, and for me, I'm more into the avatar items than the pets aha.
But I do agree that the black + orange scheme reminds me more of Halloween. x: So I'm not really too into collecting the pets, but more for selling them just for them being limited themes. I tend to like visually different pets aha.
Also, I love the leaderboard/sand sculpting? themes. o: It's rare that I think that a whole series of pets for a festival are nice altogether, so I think this festival is the first time that I adore all the themes in that sense. c:

Thank you for the suggestion. I'm sorry for complaining.

Just a suggestion, but you would write down the timestamps of when you defeat certain bosses on a notepad file or something. I do such a thing when playing games that have respawn timers for certain stuff.

ok, so question on the sand sculpting. I used a gold pearl and enriched sand on my vorp sculpture, so it should have 2-vis and one hidden gene. When it hatched and I used the genetic test, it only has the 2-vis from the pearl. Is it because I used pebbles to specify the genes for the pearl?? did that count for the sand too?? I'm a bit confused as to what happened to the hidden sand gene.

Hiddens are genes that are 'under' visible genes. You can only see what these hiddens are when looking in the image code or the advanced search (both of these options only show the hidden after a pet has been genetically tested). So, for example, let's look at this qitari I have:
If you look at his picture, or his profile page, you will see that he has a visible gene in the Gene 3 slot. In this case it is Glowing Runes. Let's take a look at his image code:
I've highlighted the part of the code that designated his Gene 3. You can see that it says "gd3=AD". 'A' is the letter designated for Glowing Runes. Because it is higher in the alphabet, and that is how this site shows gene dominance, Glowing Runes gets to be visible. If this visible gene were just a visible Glowing Runes it would be shown as AA, but this is not the case because my kelpari has a hidden gene. This hidden gene is the one linked to letter 'D': Deep Sea Runes. What this all means is that when I breed this kelpari, his offspring could receive either gene A or gene D from him, making it easier to get more gene possibilities in offspring.
What you were confusing 'hiddens' for is 'carries', which are traits that are not visible and are not hidden under a visible. These are also only visible after genetic testing, but they are designated as NA, where N means nothing is visible and A is the carried gene. In this case, there is only a 50% chance of a gene being passed down to the offspring, whereas with hiddens you have a 100% chance of a gene being passed down, it's just a 50/50 chance of which one of the two will be passed down.
Hope that helped some. As a last note, when you look at the advanced search, pure visible genes will be in blue, visibles that have hiddens under them will be purple, and carries will be in green.

Thanks! I was really confused. I haven't bred much so the system is still new to me.
