Sounds interesting. Let me know if you want any help working on lore or worldbuilding, I love writing it.

Same here. World building and lore is my jam.

The only real thing I had in mind for the moment was just kind of already playing off the idea of dark magic being harmful to its user.
So what I had in mind is that the ability to study and learn dark magic is forbidden by the church due to its ties to the occult, so outside of people learning it under the table, there's really no way to obtain it outside of, say for example, demonic deals, witch curses, or cursed artifacts. The drawback to using it can really vary. For example turning someone into a lich or demon themselves that has to perform some sort of cost to mantain their life/powers or wounding/disabling the user in some way (like blinding them in exchange for power.)

Wanted a character I can actually interact with all the nobles with, lol. This is a prince character I've already had kicking around for a few years from other rps that I hadn't brought in yet because I thought there was no holy element. He's undergoing a revamp right now, so let me know if I need to revise anything about him to fit the setting/your canons more.

Name:
Archer Wolfram Percival

Age:
26

Gender:
Male

Species:
Half-Human/Half-Avariel, a winged cousin of high elves well suited to high altitudes and mountainous terrain.

Rank:
Lord (equal to Count in Arkaos)

Magic:
Electric and Holy

Appearance:
(Have no art of him since he's being revised, need to draw him again)
5'10
Archer is a pale man of typical elven features. His long, light blonde, wavy hair hangs at the sides of his face, usually brought up in a long ponytail that hangs over his shoulder or back. His eyes are a cool, crystal blue.
A silver diadem inset with blue sapphires sits at his forehead, matching the gold and blue pauldrons worn over his shoulders over his silver, ornate armor emblazoned with the crest of the church. His feathered wings are a jet black, extending out to a 10' wingspan. He keeps them and the rest of himself well groomed, taking a great pride in his appearance. Strapped over his back, he keeps a glaive with the staff painted white, gold, and blue.

Sexuality:
Heterosexual

Personality:
A bit of a snob and painfully arrogant at times, Archer can be a hard man to stick around for long. He tends to look down on others below his station in life, humans especially. He is rather nonchalant in most affairs, albeit sworn to his code of chivalry and the principles of the church. He is extremely devoted to his faith, but can be somewhat cowardly and avoidant of combat due to a fear of being wounded.

Spouse/love interest:
Single

Any extra information?:
Archer had lived a rather sheltered life as a lord in the neighboring kingdom of Caemid until he was sent to become a knight by his human father as a young boy. Having a disdain for combat and a weak constitution, he fled to the clergy to study after finishing his training to avoid being conscripted into the nation's military force, finding himself in Arkaos after several years of serving as a holy knight in his own homeland.

He is the heir to house Karvos in Caemid.

Archer is only able to fly short distances unlike his elven mother thanks to having much shorter, weaker wings. He holds much resentment for his human side over this. He uses them primarily for breaking his fall or gliding.

Other:

Although Archer is predominantly left handed, he has shown that he has a good degree of ambidexterity in combat. Another interesting thing of note is that he has the symbol of an large, black eagle inked onto the front side of his left shoulder. He claims this was done to help identify his body if he ever brutally fell in battle to dark forces.

He's fine. :)

Since you put his rank as Lord, I'm going to assume he's around a count rank.

About where I wanted him to be honestly, his title of address is just lord. Having him be a prince here would have gotten confusing and awkward trying to give him a reason to move him to another nation and everything.
He's heir to his house in a territory, but not intended to be a true king/emperor or anything of his nation, but his family directly serves a king as one of the ruling houses under their emperor. Guess that'd be pretty much around an Earl/Count and higher than a Baron. Lord's the UK title Google gave me for that, so idk nobility ranks are confusing, I'll leave it to you to call, lol.
