In the multi-devil world: Devils. They have to keep the balance between good and evil, although no one likes how they do it (they kill evil people) so they're very looked down upon. And very feared
Magic world: Being people that, every full moon or so, have to go out and trap werewolves and vampires. Not really looked down nor up upon because next to no one knows about them, but the Magic President is very friendly with them and Protagonist is scared to have to go out on a training session to become one.

World Building: Jobs
My sea demons are very social. They have to be, in order to survive. All jobs are mandatory and each with their own level of danger. However, no one really minds because there's a high chance of death wherever you may be. A few common ones:
Specialized Jobs:
Chef: Only a few. Responsible for controlling the food supply and cooking dishes for the whole community. Respected for their resourcefulness and skill in the kitchen.
Searchers: A small percentage of the population. They take special orders from everyone, which makes them a sort of bounty hunter. They often search for glowy things in their spare time, because they can. They often travel in pairs or trios.
Council of the Trial: Organize the trial for every child on their 7th birthday. Ensure no one is cheating or trying to avoid it.
Scrollkeeper: Responsible for the only pocket of air in the deep sea. Holds all the books. Kinda like a super librarian.
Coach: Responible for training anyone under 30. A large number exists. Some are specialized for mutation training, others in weapon proficiency, and others in construction. They're like mentors.
Terraformers: Responsible for carving caves in the large stones the water. Very difficult work, but perhaps the safest. The worst that happens is being crushed to death.
Jobs for all volunteers:
Hunter: Large groups of Abyssals get together to take down larger prey, either for the kitchen or because the prey is getting too close to the settlement.
Gathering party: New one everyday. Sometimes the group gathers shellfish, kelp, clay, metal deposits, glowing flowers, ect. Like a mushroom picking group on Earth kinda.
Mandatory Job:
Defender: The moment any dangerous creature is too close to the settlement, all citizens who can fight are required to go out and kill it. Death toll is kept to a minimum, but still higher than they'd like. Common enemies are Lamprey.

Ahh, seems if we're all taking hiatuses lately... almost all of my acquaintances in sylestia (including me) either are on a hiatus, have been on a hiatus, or are going to be on a hiatus within a week...
I'll be focusing on one of my smaller mythos for this one. Here's a really rough, buggy, and yet-to-be-finished map. This mythology is almost solely focused around the Iahu. The Iahu is a god-demon-creature-thing. She (thinking of changing "her" to "them") is the "protector" of the kingdom, Uhai. (What a creative name) However, the Iahu demands one human for her to eat every day. The way the person is chosen goes like this:
Everyone over the age of 10 is entered into the drawings.
You get 1 ticket per year of age.
If you commit any crimes, you get extra tickets determined by the severity of the crime. Children are not exempt from this rule, and things such as bullying can count to your tickets. Bullying, graffiti, petty theft & the like get you between 1-5 tickets. Large-scale robberies, arson, stalking and such get you 15-50 tickets. Murder,******, "major destruction of food sources" & a few other things get you 100+ tickets.
If someone gets over 100 tickets, they get put in prison.
You get 1 extra ticket per month you're in prison.
If you're unable to work, whether it be due to illness/ageing, you get 1 extra ticket per month.
Skipping work for over 7 consecutive days will earn you 1 ticket per week until you continue working for another consecutive week.
Skipping school for over 25 cumulative days gets you 1 ticket.
There is no way to get rid of tickets once you've acquired them. Royalty, nobles, & the like are also not exempt.
...and those are the major ones. There are a couple more, but I doubt you'd want to read through all of them. Or the many tiny exceptions.
So obviously, someone has to keep track of all of this sh*t. This is back in medieval times, so there are no computers. There are a couple of jobs associated with the keeping track of tickets:
(haha! I haven't really worldbuilt this mytho in ages!)
Policemen: Generally very well regarded in society, they take on most of the jobs that modern policemen do, like crime prevention & responding to emergencies. There are very few people who specialize in medicine, so they also take on the role of being the kingdom's main medical personnel. However, the police are also required to report any crimes and who committed them to the trackers. Not reporting a crime is equal to 50 tickets to each of the person(s) responsible.
Scribes: Regarded as the worst job someone could have. Most people don't feel any animosity towards the scribes, despite their job being closely related to the ticket system, simply since most of them have been a scribe for some period of time. (Think of it how a lot of people's first jobs are grocery-store people and fast-food people and the like) They write the names on all of the tickets, as well as write out who goes in each sector's bowl. Occasionally have to act as a Dowway.
Censurs: Most people hate censurs, and try their best to not let themselves or their children be counted. Refusal to be counted, however, results in a number of tickets = each day they avoided being counted. In charge of keeping track of the population of each sector, who lives there, and their exact ages. They report directly to the scribes so they can write down who goes in each bowl, and their age.
Computers/Lawmen: Most people hold a grudge towards the computers in general, and call them "Lawmen" out of spite. However, people's attitudes towards them are fairly lax when actually meeting one, since Computers are usually only so when they're unable to get similar pay working in the fields, usually due to disabilities. They figure out how many tickets each person has, and report the total to the scribes, as well as what bowl to put them in, how many tickets they already have, how many more they need to write, etc.
Trackers: A resented duty. Keep track of everyone's crimes and ages & reporting it to the correct place when needed. Tracking is a mandatory duty for everyone over the age of 15 to perform for 1 week yearly. It's basically just compiling people's older bits and pieces of information onto a new, single sheet of paper.
Tracker Overseers: Basically the name. Very well-paying, almost no training required, but the hours are long and boring. However, a single mishap could get you permanently fired from any ticket-related duties and earn you up to 75 tickets.
Breels and High Breels: Breels inspect Tracker's and Computer's finished work. High Breels finalize it, and it gets sent to the scribes to be written into tickets. Very long and rigorous process to become either kind of Breel, exceptionally good pay and hours. Like with Tracker overseers, a single mistake can get you fired, and up to 250 tickets(!).
Dowways: After a person is picked, they go through each bowl to get rid of their excess tickets. They're also randomly called upon to count through someone's tickets, whether it be just a fully random check, or because they think there's been something happen somewhere in the system. Being a Dowway is technically just a secondary job of the scribe, but it's almost its own separate job for some people who are very good at it.
Ticketeers & high Ticketeers: Ticketeers oversee all ares of the system in random checks, and are often "sniffers" when in comes to overseeing, making sure nothing gets through the cracks. They're the only ones who can order Dowway checks without thorough reasoning being given. One High Ticketeer per sector operate on a council of sorts, and they make sure the whole system is kept running. This job is hated by almost everyone. Almost no one has so much loyalty to the ticket system which will prophesize their doom, that they aspire to become a ticketeer.
Drawers: There are actually 3 drawings. The High Ticketeers take turns each day to draw what sector will be chosen. The the Ticketeeer of that sector then draws a name. Whomever name was drawn will get called in to draw a second name- the name of the person who will become the Iahu's snack.
The Iahu herself is an integral part of this system. She will ruthlessly kill anyone who upsets the ticket system's fairness, and most of the checks and balances are only there to make sure there as few casualties as possible. The general populace doesn't know much about exactly how much the Iahu interferes in the buisness of the kingdom, and so most people wanting to rig the system wouldn't know that the Iahu would kill them, and likely anyone else which the Iahu felt was involved. This information is readily availble to people who dig for it, but it isn't openly revealed, mainly so people won't freak out and fear death constantly
Note: sectors aren't a caste or job system, unlike in many books. They're simply a way of keeping track of who lives where, so that way they can put their tickets in the correct bowl. It makes it much easier to remove tickets after someone's died, and it also helps to monitor crime rates, population, and crime severity in certain areas. I haven't yet figured out how many sectors there are yet, which is one reason for me drawing up a map. Most people don't actually know the sectors from one another, which is a deliberate choice to make sure people don't think higher of their sector than others simple because they have different numbers. Each sector has its own "bowl," which is where the tickets are drawn from. They first draw a ticket to determine which bowl to pick from, and then pick from said bowl. Since an enormous amount of paper is needed for all of the tickets & paperwork involved, they use a unique strain of bamboo which they cultivated from a single imported piece from when they had contact with the outside world. They are now completely secluded.
Started writing this two days ago. Finished at 3 AM today. Sorry if there are any internal inconsisincies, I'm afraid that both my grammar skills and my mental faculties begin to deteriorate after 1 AM. I loved this prompt!

(apologies in advance, it's 3 AM where I live. Spelling and grammar will be off, and I am likely tripsy)
I like how they're actually a job for taking people's "orders" and going out to try and find it. That's a really cool job that I haven't seen before. That would be really cool to see in action, all of the complications and such.
Also, sorry if you mentioned it in a previous post and I just didn't see, but what is the Trial? I don't think you've mentioned it before, and now you've piqued my curiousity.
I like how you talk as if being crushed to death is a joyous experience. I mean it's probably not as bad as some of the other things that could happen, but you're still being crushed to death XD

(i think i accendetly created 2 worlds in the Zoupli Family Story, i'll be using Okeanos.)
In Okeanos, there is practically any job possible. Important jobs, aren't worshiped, but are highly respected. Examples are: Doctors, Lawyers (for the non-working class), Officers. Jobs that are highly respected in ALL Districts: Surgeons, Teachers, Professors, Therapists, etc. For minimum wage workers, depending on what you are, it's very different. It could go from 'Get the f out of here' to 'I feel bad for him/her'. Most rude to least rude:
Ny'vene, Draeyl, Lighira, Aurleon, Nytekrie, Lunemara, Lupora, Morkko, Kelpari, Griffi, Sylvorpa, Vulnyx Faelora, Qitari, Zolnixi, Ryori, Nephini, Ferrikki, Luffox, Puffadore, Aeridini, Bulbori
