Well that took a while to do.
Faiona sayd "A full scene with Sylesti and eggs is allowable. Just want the focal point at least be the eggs though. :)" so we... actually already had the outline drawn before we got that, but concluded that yes, we could have 'Just some Digital Art Pals doing some Traditional Art Egg Painting' as our entry and proceeded.
(where's the paint palette? The water? Hiding)
Mmmmh, might do a little more on the outline shading, but for the moment it's done

Well I finally Decided on an entry, as a side note I did a few eggs this year, man, MANY were not successes XD, I considered this one a TOB (thing of Beauty) it will hang on my xmas tree this winter XD
Stage 1 The egg: Note to those who decide to carve/peirce eggs DONT use store bought (to thin) and brown eggs have a thicker shell than white. took 7 eggs for me to figure that one out, two more to find out freshly blown eggs are better than dried *drying makes them brittle*
Stage 2 Started carving: as a side note, diamond drill bits all the way and something soft to cradle the egg.
Stage 3 almost done carving:
Stage 4 Craving opening: This was hair rasing since its making sooo many weak points to cut open, after this it was a bleach bath for this egg.
Stage 5 Neph sculpting:
Stage 6 Painting: I found a pearlecent teal paint *looks better in person* that adds a bit more density to the shell as well as covers the brown.
Stage 7 Baked and painted: I added a few things here, hole was made bigger on top so I could add string and a button
Stage 8 Painted Neph: Yay baby Poison dart frog neph!
Stage 9 adding details like pearls and copper paint to egg: yup added real fresh water pearls, they looked so nice :)
Final: added air drying clay to the bottom and stuck this little guy in there, he looks so chill XD

Yeah I know there's nothing Sylestia related in this drawing but I worked hard on this and might as well show it to the world instead of leaving it to rot on my phone.
Drawing app used: ibisPaint X
Things I used: my phone and an egg template

This has taken longer than it should. I kept getting distracted with other projects, so it's not up to scratch with what I normally do, but I knew that if i kept adding more it would never get done. Sorry in advance for the absolute horrible image quality. It looked better when I took it and I upload them all after I'm done. I hope there are enough photos as some had to be done in places where I couldn't take an image to get it done in time. Introducing my felt easter eggs:
Sewing the egg shells:
Creating a little Luffox:
Making Ny'vene baby:
Final Piece: Just finished going round the easter egg maze finding eggs and are now showing them off to my baby Luffox.
Oh wait, one of those isnt an easter egg, its a Sylesti egg. It hatched! Welcome to the family!

Egg sculpting setup
The center of the eggs is nice sturdy aluminum foil.
Clay-wrapped egg
Can you tell what species these eggs will be?
How about now?
Size reference!
I made another in an identical process, the only difference was the colors used and the "stage" of the egg.
Aeribulb eggs are pretty cute, after all.
A third egg, in my favorite colors!
They're ready to be baked now
Here they are post-bake, nice and sturdy.
Closeup of what's supposed to be a glowing garden egg
Closeup of my favorite colors egg. You can see the glitter!
Nestled the eggs in, well, a nest. Yay!
