I like the style of the first one better, but at least in the current sketch, it's not clear that the fur covers the full body. *has no idea how to fix that cause she's not an artist.*

So.. might be a bit confusing, but here goes..

(I upped the quality on the picture in my app thingie.. but other than that)
I replaced the muscle lines with dash-like lines to make it look more like fur was there, but that there are still some muscles lying underneath the fur. I also changed the style of the neck fur and the tail fur to match the rest of the fur better. Another few things that were added or changed was the cheek fur, which was made a little shorter in areas and longer in others; more fur in other areas which were just flat and probably furless; added a little tuft of fur on the chin :3; and some tufts of fur around the horns.
You probably noticed that there is an arm and a paw beside the dragon. Just a little more to show the fur on the joints that I had trouble fully showing on the base itself. Also, the paw is just there to be there so you can color in the paw pads. (There will be six of them, so you can have the paws with different patterns and colors if you felt it.) The paw is a work in progress right now as I still have to make it look like the front paws. (Then do four others that resemble the 4 remaining paws. Ahhh.. xD)


Random questions..
So, what do you need the template for?

If you are making an RP character or OC, can I do some random doodles of them once you color it in and etc? Free. :D

First: That looks much better. :)
second: For a template I just need the lines/texture and the shading (on separate layers). And a layer for coloring. I also need it to be GIMP compatible.
Thrid: I am making it for RP character and you are more than welcome to do random doodles if you like. ^^ I will probably end up using the template for more than one character in the end, but I have a specific use in mind at the moment.

Ah! Good! Of course, in the line art, I will change the fur to look less randomly thrown around.. well, just better and more physics following.

Good to know. (No worries, I wouldn't have put them on the same layer. e.e) Would it be easier if I did a grey separate layer under everything that colored in the dragon? Make it so all you have to do is recolor and do clip layers. Sabe you a little work maybe.
I never use bases or templates.. so I wouldn't know if that comes with a base usually or not.. xD

Nicee! Just throw over the colored version and I'll doodle a whole sheet of doodles of them. :D

Is the tail okay? I had to fight with it quite a lot and just settled with that for the meantime.

How detailed are you looking for the template? I have an idea and some work was already done towards it, but just so I know. If you want, I can do all that I had planned for the template and you can change what you like and dislike from there.
It might end up like a ref sheet instead of a basic template. If you want. That means it will include fill in-able details and details about areas you can't see from one pose.
EX- Height in comparison to a human, all 6 pawpads, name, gender, some stats, tongue, eyes, etc.
Of course, I will put everything in folders so you can figure them out easily. :)

The tail looks fine to me. Yes to the separate layer for coloring. And while I don't know that I'd use all those details, it wouldn't hurt to have them if you feel like including them. So I will leave how detailed you want to get up to you. ^^

Would you like an entirely new sketch and drawing? It might go a little into tomorrow, but if you want a new sketch/pose/etc, it will be finished by tomorrows end at least.
Hopefully. A bust shot took three days for some stupid reason, and I was working on it those three days straight.. xD Probably because I was doing a new style..
