Drizzle purred and bopped her nose. "Gotcha!" Lightningstar smiled.

Ebb wandered around the forest, his ribs were visible through his skinny body, he had had next to nothing to eat all week. He had plenty to drink, the dew off leaves in the morning was yummy, but he needed food badly. He smelled something. It smelled like more cats! He padded towards it, his stomach growling loudly. Maybe the cats had food to spare. He padded into the territory, tense and alert. You could never be to careful in clan territory, but it was for his sake of survival. He padded towards the place where the scent was strongest. He stopped outside a barrier protecting the camp. It brought back old memories of a cat fight which had killed his parents and siblings. he shook it off and slowly walked towards the entrance.

Frostpaw walked over to Lightningstar "Can I go hunting?" She asked impatiently, "The fresh kill pile is basically empty and I'm starving!"

Lightningstar nodded. "Of course. Why don't you find some other cats to take? By the way, where's Stormpelt?" She said, taking her eyes of the tumbling kits.

Frostpaw shrugged, "I don't know, but I could find her I guess."

Lightningstar frowned. Stormpelt should be training her apprentice. "Actually, I just remembered she said she was supposed to be on patrol. I told her to take you with her." She sighed. Things were getting very confusing very quickly. "You should ask Redspeckle who's going on what patrol, cause this is getting so mixed up." She glanced at Drizzle and the other kit. "Maybe I shouldn't be with the kits at a time like this. My clan needs me, and Redspeckle isn't used to being a clan cat, much less a deputy. This is her first day. I should be helping her." She mumbled. Drizzle looked up. "We will be fine. We won't leave camp." He squeaked. Lightningstar hesitated.

Stormpelt padded into camp behind the patrol. Her paws heavy, she padded into the nursery.

She had caught a mouse with Blackfire, when she walked into camp her tail drooped. "Frostpaw, you are supposed to be on a patrol with Snowheart and stormpelt!" She tried to have a calm voice but a slight hiss was in it. She looked over to Lightningstar her heart froze for a minute. She had picked the last bit of what she said about her. "I know plenty about clan clan life." She hissed under her breath low enough for no one could hear.
