Hey y'all!!! I've got some designs for the summer fest that I'd like second opinions on. Ordered from the ones I like the most to the ones I like the least.
Campfire Aeridini

Midnight Meteor Nytekrie

Blooming Orchid Faelora

Twilight Seafoam Kelpari (working title)

For the Volcanic Ash Aurleon, I would recommend using a bright red or orange to make the design pop and not look so bland.

*Not sure if any of these would work, or whether the color slots would clash-take this all with a grain of salt XD

The Campfire Aeridini: could possibly have more red/orange/yellow gradients? It doesn't strike me a fiery.

Midnight Nyterkrie: possbily some really dark blues? I'm seeing more purple/black, and I think of space/night having some blue in it

Blooming Orchid Faelora: what kind of orchid? There are probably thousands of orchid species that are pink. Try looking some up and give it a specific name? There's some really nice pink ones out there. Also where'd the orange-red come from? To me it takes away the pink effect on the patterns

Twilight Seafoam Kelpari: Possibly some blue? If your going to stick with a oceanic theme, them blue helps since people associate blue with water/ocean

Volcanic Ash: have a touch of red/orange? Volcanic=fire?? And maybe a tad more black-grey variation? (could be color slots I can't see)

In which I have no idea what I'm doing and probably ruin your design
Original vs Tweaked

Blazing Bonfire: Missing bright red? It's mostly Orange-Yellow
This is probably just my love to have high saturation talking though :)

Sorry it took me so long to critique! But you are not forgotten.

All or your themes have great potential and have a very aesthetic theme. However, the biggest problem with your themes is that you must fill ALL the color hexes. If you want to incorporate white into your themes, I would suggest using an off white color.

The Aeridini to me didn't look like a thunderstorm at all, mainly because of the cream colors and the saturated blue. I suggest replacing the cream colors with a variety of greys and greyish-purple and/or darkening the blues on the wings.

I noticed in the Aurleon that two of the color hexes were empty so I filled them in with an off white and grey. The orange is also a tad to saturated so I would tone that down too. Other than that, I really like it.

Oh boy, I got happy feet when I first saw this Bulbori. It's so pretty and aesthetic! But the highlighted yellow doesn't quite belong there so I would remove that. Also, some of the greens are a bit bold so I would tone those down slightly too.

I admit it, I got excited at the Faelora too. Gosh, it's so beautiful! I did notice some repeated colors so I suggest varying the tans and blues a bit more, maybe adding some of that green used in the Bulbori. Way to go!

I like the Ferrikki. Just vary the pinks a bit more.

The Griffi is alright too, but there might be a bit too much yellow.

I adore this Kelpari, however, it think the blue in M1 was a little too much blue. So, to offset it, I suggested a jeweled green to it.

I would just darken the green a bit with the Luffox. With that said, this gives me more magical vibes than mysterious.

The Lunemara is so pretty for a Lunemara... *o*

In the Lupora, the blues are too bright and the white doesn't quite work, looking off the reference. So I would darken the blue and change the white to something else, like light grey.

For a bit more pop in the Neph, I suggest darkening the blue on it's body so the bright blue and green are enhanced. Also, darken the blues and greens slightly for they are a bit too bright.

At first glance, I had a hard time figuring out the Ny'vene was a sunset and it was only when I loaded it into the generator was when I started to see it. You've got the right colors, but some of them are either to heavy or too light to see. Also, the blue doesn't fit in this case.

The Puffadore looks like a parfait so great job! ;)

These colors are so beautiful! I would just darken the blue in color 1 and change the pale pink to a color that blends better with the g/c1 colors

Also the Ryori looks good

All together, I enjoy this Sylvorpa. The yellow and the purples complement each other very well. My only critique for this design is to tone down that super bright yellow. Other than that, fantastic!

The Vulnyx looks gorgeous. I love the shade of blue used as well as the golden brown.

And lastly, the Zolnixi. I would fill in the blank spaces with off whites and perhaps use a light grey for the wings.

Of course, these are all just suggestions, you don't have to follow them. All of your themes are fabulous and I wish the best for them in the competition. I hoped I helped you a bit. Good luck my friend!

Thank you for your thorough critique! I went through and made some changes (generally smaller changes, really, but I think they help). I did actually notice I'd left accent colors blank and fixed it in the theme thread, but I hadn't fixed them on this thread.

I actually like my Aeri the way it is, I just think it needed a different name. I changed it to "Distant Storm" and added a photo that I think shows what I was going for, although the colors still aren't the same:

I changed the Bulbori just a little by taking away that yellow for a warm tan:

I made some minor adjustments to few colors of the Fae, Rikki, Griffi, and Luff.

I definitely see what you meant about the Lupora, but I didn't want to change it too drastically. I did add some deeper colors to it, so hopefully it's an improvement. I will continue to tweak it until I'm happy.
Original-----New

I see that I really should have had a reference picture for my Ny'vene:
As you can see, even though it's a sunset, it has no orange tones at all.

I deepened some of the colors on the Qitari, but I think I need to work on it some more.

Also, I have a new design now for Lighira:
Blue Flame Lily

I'd like to know your thoughts.

Again, thanks for the critique! I'm always trying to better my designing. And thank you for the kind words about my designs!

I will be delighted to share my thoughts about the changes!

I'm glad you provided the reference picture for the Aeridini because now the cream color makes more sense. But the blues still should be darker to match the sky in the picture.

Other than this minor change, it's really close to the cloud in the picture so kudos for you!

The Lupora looks much better! Just a hint more black/dark blue should do the trick.

I'm so stoked to see the picture used for the Ny'vene! Looking at it closer, you have the right colors an such but they are way too light.

The easy fix for this is to darken the colors more! Also, the wings make for a killer sunset effect so for that use purple, pink, yellow, and/or orange when you can.

Lastly, for the Lighra, just deepen the blue a tad and it should look perfect!

As always, these are just suggestions as I loved seeing you make your own changes to them. Good luck.
