Lol, to everyone who has attempted/currently attempting to solve my lovely math problem, please reread the original post. After solving, I realized I had made a dreadful estimation of the original number of teams (I actually wasn't sure how many teams there were in the beginning) and was like, "Wait... we won wayyy more games than that", so I've edited the problem to be a little harder and make a little more sense, because... we're not that bad. And we won a good bit more than 2 games.
Oh, by the way, Orca, your answer was actually correct, I was just like, "Wut, I swear it was supposed to be higher than that..."
So I wrote this two minutes ago
I will be happy if anyone bothers to solve ;D
Yes, this actually happened
Minus the me only shaking hands with the teams we won against, but I wanted to make it more complicated
Assume I didn't shake hands with anyone else before or after the competition
It's not that hard, just logic and simple math, but it's pretty tedious :P
On Saturday, Lark went to a science competition. There were 72 teams in total. For the first part, these 72 teams were divided into 12 groups (is that the even right word), and every team played every other team in their group. The top two teams from each group (based on games won) moved on to the elimination round. Lark's team won all but two of their games for that part, the first loss because they had been rudely woken up at 5 in the morning and were still sleep-deprived, and the second loss because they were playing against child prodigies. However, they still moved on to elimination. During elimination round, if you lost a game, you were out of the competition. Lark's team made it to 6th place, but they don't remember how many elimination rounds they played. There were 5 people (including captain) on each team, and Lark shook hands with every team member of the opposite team only after every round that they won, because they are a sore loser. However, during two instances, the other team's captains were busy signing the score sheet, and at one point, the other team's physics major was really sad that he lost to Lark's sheer awesomeness and didn't notice Lark clearing their throat repeatedly while extending a hand. How many people's hands did Lark shake that day?

Ok here's mine because I want you guys to roast your brains.
My recital started at 9:02 in the morning. After 2 minutes of welcomes and intros, the performers started playing. The concert lasted 30 minutes, including award presentation, which was about 5 minutes let's say. L (there were 15 groups, solos and duets and stuff, but like 20 performers). Each groups peice took less then 5minutes. There were 13 groups before me. Those groups had peices under 3mintue sin length, three of them were under a minute, including bowing and stuff. The price after rme was hree minutes. How many minutes was my peice?)

"30 }{<" and the sentence that starts with "Each performer on the program" doesn't have an end

Alrighty then :D
If I draw 2 squares, and the sum of the perimeters of said squares is 240cm, what is the side length of the smaller square, assuming that the side lengths of the two squares differ by 2.4cm? If the larger square is cut in half, diagonally (is that the right word?), making a triangle, what is the perimeter of that triangle? Round to the nearest tenth.

Everyone is giving math problems when I have a B+ in math only because I got tutoring lol. I'm already failing the 3rd quarter :c
*B+ was for last quarter, not this quarter which I think I have a C or D in*
