This is...
Wandering Blue

On a starless night, an unusual egg was born. The mother, who had struggled with the egg, saw strange colors on the egg and, afraid the egg would never hatch, abandoned it. The next morning an adventurer saw a strange colored rock. Cautiously approaching the rock, he saw the rock was an egg. Looking around, and seeing no adults watching the egg, touched the egg. Feeling it was cold, the adventurer picked up the egg, wrapping it in a blanket, and walked home.

Carefully caring for the egg to the best of his ability, the adventurer was happily surprised to wake the third morning to see the egg hatching. Watching the egg to make sure the egg-ling didn't have any complications hatching, watched a dappled Zolnixi crawl out off the remains of the shell. Picking up the hatch-ling and holding it to his chest to keep it warm, he realized it was smaller than normal Zolnixi hatch-ling. The next day when the hatch-ling was strong enough to make the trip, went to the closest town, Ethernia. Heading to the plaza, he made a beeline for the healer. Luckily that day the line was almost non-existent.

Walking up to the healer, she looked up and stared to smile, but stopped when she saw the young hatch-ling. The man gently placed the hatch-ling on the table in front of the healer.
"What's seems to be the problem?"
The man made sure the hatch-ling was comfortable before replying,
"When she hatched, she seemed small for a normal hatch-ling, is she healthy?"
The healer checked the small hatch-ling,
"Yes, she's perfectly healthy, though she IS a bit smaller than most. Keep taking care of her and check back in again in a few days, OK?"
The man nodded then payed the healer for her deed, then went on his way home.

After a couple days the hatch-ling, that he had named Blue, became just as strong, fast, and play-full as other Zolnixis. The adventurer always played with her and never let her go hungry. She never became spoiled though, he taught her discipline and resourcefulness. He also taught her how to survive IF he could no longer be with her, at the end of all of the lessons they were in tears. When they went back to the healer the third day, she said that Blue was still healthy and was a normal size now.

When Blue became an Adolescent she was finally allowed to join her father on his adventures. Since she wanted to help her father carry supplies, he outfitted her with a small satchel and bag. He also decorated it with Aurleon feathers, a dream-catcher he had made for her when she was a hatch-ling, and some random shiny keys. One day when they were adventuring in ***2, the man stepped in some quicksand. Blue tried to help him out but the man told her to stay away. He threw his goggles at her to keep away,
"Blue, please just go, I'm in to deep, even if you got help, they couldn't help."
Blue whined and sat down at the edge of the sinkhole hanging her head.

The man thought for a second then looked at Blue with soft eyes,
"I can't go with you this time Blue, but go visit my sister, she'll take care of you."
Blue glanced up at him, then after a moment stood up and yanked off one of her feathers,
"Blue, what are you doing?"
Blue looked at him and reached as far as she could and gave the feather to him. Both the man and Blue were at the verge of tears. The man looked at Blue and smiled,
"Thank you Blue."
Blue took one long last look at her father, her best-friend, and only family she ever had, then sighed and turned to walk to his sister's.

By the time she got to the edge of Viridian Meadows she had spent all of her money on a healer for her leg, witch she had broke fighting some zombie warriors. And she had used all of her potions on her major injuries. But when she felt sad, a bunch of fairy butterflies would dance and play with her and cheer her up. When they left, she had enough motive to keep moving, especially when some of their dust would land on her father's goggles. After a nasty fight with some mutated mushrooms, she managed to hobble into Esior's haven, after a few steps into the center of town, she collapsed.

This is where I come in, a few days later after Blue left my brother, I heard a knock at my door. I stand up, waking Melody my first pet, and walk over to the door. With all that has been going on, zombies, bandits, and the lot, I drew my sword and Melody went on her guard,
"Who's there?'
A small voice protruded from the other side of the door,
"Kena!! It's Jinxie!! I thought I saw Blue!!"
I glanced at Melody and opened the door so Melody could attack if necessary,
"Come on!! She seemed injured!!"
Melody jumped at the voice, then I heard Jinxie's laughter,
"Melody!! (laugh) Stop!! (laugh)"
As I look around the door outside I see that Melody had tackled Jinxie and was licking her face. As Melody gets off of her, Jinxie stands and dusts her-self. She then looks at me then grabs my arm as I'm putting away my sword.
"Come on!! I did see Blue!!"
"Don't-"
As Jinxie is pulling me to Esior's Haven, Melody picks up Blue's sent, remembering it from last summer when she visited with my brother.
"Jinxie! Did you see my brother with her?"
Jinxie glanced at me then kept running,
"No! That's why we need to get there now!!"
I began to worry, Blue NEVER left my brother's side. Melody began to run faster as the sent became riddled with the sent of blood. I ran faster to keep up with her, leaving Jinxie trying to keep up. (Sorry Jinxie!!)

As I rushed into Esior's Haven I saw a small crowd surrounding something, as I ran closer I saw Blue was the center of their attention.
"Blue!!" I cried out.
I pushed and shoved through the crowd until I got to Blue's side,
"Blue!! What happened to you?!?"
The healer managed to get to Blue's side as well,
"You know this Zolnixi?"
I nodded,
"She's my brother's, but I don't see him anywhere! Blue never leaves his side!"
As I look at Blue again I notice my brother's goggles on her head, as I reached for them, Blue GROWLED at me. I look at Blue sup-prized then realized what happened, why my brother wasn't with her, why his googles were on her head. I began to weep as the healer examined Blue. Jinxie gasped as she made it to my side and saw just how BAD Blue looked.

Blue had been in bad shape before as told to her by her brother's adventure stories, but never had she been injured THIS bad. One of her legs was in a tattered and dirty cast, huge patches of fur was missing and multiple wounds were visible and some oosed pus and stank of infection.

As I wept, the smallest butterfly following Blue seemed to speak to the biggest one, then flew away. As the healer realize she didn't have enough supplies to save Blue, the little butterfly came back, with thousands of other fairy butterflies, each carrying a part of an ingredient the healer needed. The little butterfly was holding a single drop of a red health potion. It flew to Blue's muzzle as the healer was opening Blue's mouth, and dropped the drop on Blue's tongue.

That was enough to wake Blue, and as she looked around at all of the people, she saw all of the fairy butterflies. She seemed to smile in awe. The healer smiled too, she had the ingredients she needed. After a while, the healer was finally done.
"Blue?" I asked,
"Can you get up?"
Blue was looking at all of the butterflies, then glanced at me. She stood up and started to dance with the butterflies. Watching Blue dance with them got Melody in the mood, and she started to dance with her.

Now Blue lives with me, she cares for the eggs and hatch-lings the way her father did for her. She teaches them how to fight, the basics of survival, and some discipline. She also shows them how to dance with the butterflies that follow her non-stop. The littlest one that had woken her is now the biggest and wisest of the group.

Blue has also managed to soften Dark Knight, my oldest pet, into dancing with them. She even got Flora out of her stable and dancing as well. She still misses my brother, I do to, but she keeps being the little Zolnixi pup that he raised and loved.

Ethernia= Castle in center of map
***2= desert region.

This is Ivan. He was designed to look like the Russian flag. I love the Zolnixi and I've been studying the Russian language, history, and culture, and I wanted something to represent that. I used African Painted so that his tail would look exactly like the flag. I used Star Runes because they kinda look like snow and represent Russian achievements in space. Finally, I used Spirit Wings both to represent the enduring spirit of Russia and because it looked cool.

I don't have a cool history for him, but he does enjoy playing in the snow and reading and his favorite food is blini (sort of like crepes, but not). He's a loyal companion if you're lucky enough to earn his trust and a fierce fighter, but can be very dangerous if crossed.

Ember

"When Summer's fun is over
And the world begins to tire
As the green begins to fade
He brings forth the heatless fire

The leaves tremble on their trees
They feel what is yet to come
To be freed by the cool breeze
But not before his work is done

Turning green to red and gold
He pads on from dusk to dawn
Turning verdant into bold
He moves forward wandering on."

Once, in the middle of winter, a young girl met a lovely Nephini who was the color of pure ice crystals and they instantly became the best of friends. The girl was too young to properly care for a Sylesti of her own, so she promised the Nephini that, one day, when she was old enough, she would come back for her.
A man from the same village as the girl, saw a chance to make a lot of gold. Nephinis were rare, and always sold well. So he plotted to capture the Sylesti.

However, the girl came back sooner than expected, and brought her father, who was curious about his daughter's new friend. They saw the man, and Nephini was in a trap.

"Halt thief!" the girl's father yelled. He was a guard in the small army of the village, and was known for his fierce Zolnixi.
"I'm not a thief, this Sylesti is wild!" the man countered.
"No, she belongs to my daughter!"

The father called his Zolnixi to him. After what seemed like hours of fighting, the father subdued the man and freed his daughter's Nephini.

"What will you call your Sylesti?"
"I will name her Falling Snow!"

(Yes, I know, this is the worst story ever, but I had serious writer's block. xD )

The Heartless Wizard
"A heart's a heavy burden."

Inspired by the film "Howl's Moving Castle", which has always been one of my favorites. For this I decided to create Howl, a vain and cowardly wizard who learns to let go of superficial habits for something more important. The design is somewhat inhibited by the three-marking limit, but he still has his coat and the hints of the monstrous transformation he is capable of, plus the starlight. While I was torn between several designs(Most were from other Studio Ghibli films), this one was my favorite and looked the most like the character it represented.

Takira of the Desert Winds

The howling wind signaled the start of a storm. Sand whipped across everything exposed, stripping fur and flesh alike. The small desert village was hard pressed, the tempest continued for well over a week, stronger by some form of magic. Food was getting scarce and no one could stand for long against the gale. But in the midst of any crisis, a hero will rise, in this case a young griffi named Takira. Despite the village elder's orders to the contrary, Takira left the village to hunt for the source of the winds, with nothing more than her wits to aid her. After two days of wandering around the desert, buffed with sand so harsh it left scars, Takira found a collapsed cave she had never seen before. A number of jet-black stones were exposed to the elements, allowing the wind to become the tempest that plagued the village. Carefully, Takira took the stones to the village elder who used the magic to stop the storm. Takira became a hero worthy to wear these magic stones, an honor she keeps to this day.

Rick. I designed him quite a while ago, so I don't know what my inspiration was. However, here's a shot. I really like gray and rather like orange, and I don't think I see them together often enough. And the life lines just do awesome things to the mane, especially after what the bengal fade does, and I also have a liking towards circles.

Name: Bridge of Light
Markings/Mutations: Enchanted Butterflies (F7058A)
Double Stripes (F3F705)
Rainbow Advanced Runes
Violet eyes (F705D3), C1 and C2 black, C3 bright yellow (F3F705)

Named after a song by Pink, Bridge is a visual representation of the light that could emerge from the darkest of places. Her fur may be black, but it is broken by the stripes that mimic the warmth and light of the sun, and the rainbow runes that symbolize the beauty and love of the world. The song she is named after talks about not giving up, even when you're at your lowest and most defeated point, and that is what Bridge represents. She is the light at the end of the dark tunnel, the first ray of sunshine after a long dark night, and the warmth that pushes back the cold of winter. Bridge is the love a mother shares with her children, the hope that burns within us all, and the drive that pushes us to protect those who depend on us. She is the tender hug that calms our rage, the helping hand when we fall, and the kind stranger that comes when we most need them. She is the good-night kiss of the parent, the night-light that protected you against monsters as a child, and the tender touch that comforts and ends your tears when you're sad. She loves all, her love showing in the sun and rainbow in her fur, banishing the darkness of hate and despair. She does not feel anger, she does not know rage, for those emotions are useless. All those negative emotions are just baggage, and will only weigh you down. It is only when you banish these emotions, when you cast them out of your life entirely, will you live happy and free forever.

Deep breath, take it on the chin,
But don't forget to let the love back in,
Because only love can build us a Bridge of Light.
