It's taking me a while to get the hang of how these re-vamped traits do and do not work with each other, so I haven't re-generated many of my Kelparies yet. However, I'm happy with how the re-gen worked out for Clipper, my best Ocean Waves stallion--

Yep, I'm all that.

--and also two of my Halloween mares, Gaksi Dokkaebi and her daughter, Cham Dokkaebi--


But re-generating my Ectoplasmic Kelps--whew! That's a hard Theme to work with.

Faeyla: If you add Luminous Fins to one of your Sunken Cementary Kelparis I'd be interested in breeding with it.
Your Christmans Kelp looks very stunning! I normally don't like the christmas themes, but she is great!

SpaceElf: I already found Sea Moss and bred with him. He looks fabulous.

SpaceElf: I love how Clipper turned out. I'll have to keep him in mind when I get around to my couple of Ocean waves Kelp.

So, I'm trying to decide what to give my SC kelp along with luminous fins. He has 2 points to spend, so I was thinking....

Both look nice with deep sea runes.

SpaceElf: I didn't pay much attention to Faded Spots. I always liked other traits better. It's the same with Frog Spots now.

I bought this budding themed offspring before the revamp and either he wasn't eligible for regenning or I regenned him immediately and decided later that I don't like how busy kelp armor is. I don't dislike kelp armor for all kelps though. It's just for certain ones I don't like how much it hides the body. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would like to give him a new home?

If it's between Seahorse or Body Stripes, I think I personally like Seahorse a bit better. They're all lovely though. (Why it is called Body Stripes when it's not on the body I have no idea.)

I personally don't like Frog Spots as much as Faded Spots, but I have liked Frog Spots on certain kelparies still.

Also, I have three tagged Festive Kelparies. Two only have carries and haven't been mutated yet. But I did mutate a third that already had a vis.

I have two Tranquil Waters and one Deviant Deluge. But I'm thinking about eventually using disrupters on all three of them. I do like your second guy. He has traits that aren't my favorites but with him and his colors he looks very good with them.

Reading through this I sound so much more negative than how I feel regarding the kelparies with me talking about traits I generally don't like as much. But I love this revamp so much. I can't say with certainty that nephinies are my favorite species anymore. And seeing my non-themed kelparies being so pretty has helped me go back and release a bunch of older pets of other species that I've held onto for nostalgia. I think I want more quality with my non-themed collection though there's those I'm still definitely going to hold onto for nostalgic reasons.

Regarding Frog/Faded Spots... Not so much, the traits themselves I suppose... maybe more the way the colors now work...
Anyway, pre-revamp I bought a little guy that had them and he was this faded red with black and he was the cutest thing ever. Then the revamp happened and suddenly he was purple. And not a good purple either, he looked sickly. And as it happened, the purple was in the C3 slot and he was only elible for the EC/M2 color regen. So in order to get back what I loved, I had to dye him.

Unfortunately I didn't think to save a before... But this is what he looks like now... And I have to say... He's gorgeous, even for a 1vis.



In certain ways, I like Frog Spots, although I did prefer Faded. But it's not my go-to body gene... I tend to like Tiger or Splotched, also Dusky, but since it's a new gene, I don't have it on anything but a design. (Orca Kelpari, anyone?) So if anybody happens upon a Kelpie with that gene...

I just saw via the advanced search that there's a couple female kelparies carrying Dusky up for only 30 and 500 gold if you want to try to breed it in that way.
