personally they kind of creep me out
i would make the body and arms much fluffier and maybe revert back to the original nose?
the hair on the female is rather odd
the hands and i think the eyes are quite strange
the positioning if odd on the body the legs look okay but i like more insectoid positioning
overall i like the originals more
but i love the hatchlings!! definitely cuter
edit:
i really like what @Kyokai drew

They look really good, I love the female. Nose on the male looks a little weird and the smile is creepy but the female adult reminds me of Dr. Seuss characters and the hatchling form is just a cute.

@StormSerpent
Hey, I saw your post and just wanted to make sure you (and everyone else) knows:
I didn't draw any of those.
I guess I'll edit my post to put the user's names. I don't want people thinking I'm taking credit for someone else's hard work. But I agree with their drawings so I just wanted to post them all together.
^-^; I'm a goober, we all know that already.

Why do baby males have five arms on each side, the baby female has four FIVE?! total and the adults have six total? I'd understand maybe four total on the babies and they grow into another set or something (but that's pushing it)? But the males lose 4 arms and the females gain 2 1??? That's just.. why? And I know the current artwork has 10 legs for each baby and 6 for adults. But this is a revamp.. and at least the female baby has the same amount of legs as the male baby.
This is the first time when I'm not impressed overall. The wings are generic in shape, THE ARM COUNT, the female body is ridiculous (what's with that waist?), I don't understand what's going on with the male's nose unless I zoom in a lot, the mouths are off-putting (just get rid of them, the artist can convey emotion through the eyes), the neck fluff seems lack-lustre and finally there's an unnecessary line connecting the female's cheek fluff to her antennae. There are some odd line work connections going on too, unappealing to the eye and a general no-no in illustration. If you want I can circle all the connections I'm talking about (maybe I will).
I thought this was going to be a huge re-vamp but at this point I prefer the old ones. I guess it's good I'm not a huge lune fan to begin with but I had high expectations for this one.

I saw these yesterday and was like "oh how cute...they look...wait....is that a Dr. Seuss moth?" and that was exactly where my mind went. I decided to wait and not post right away and see if my brain could digest the new artwork. First I want to say, I am no artist. I love to color but drawing I cannot do, so I appreciate the hard work that goes into the artwork for each and every revamp. That being said, there are things that bother me about the proposed revamp art and most of it has already been stated here. I just wanted to go on record to say that I feel a lot the same as others. I was expecting more of something along the lines of what Blazekitten posted rather than an anthropomorphic moth. I can appreciate that the artist is trying to convey more of an emotion with the adults, but honestly, too much and they begin to get creepy...
I have to admit that I do love the antennae. I love moths in real life, the big Luna Moths are my favorite. I love how fluffy they are. I think that is something missing from the art as well, to portray their fluffiness here.
I don't remember who said it (sorry) but these look more waspish, and maybe that could be something for a new species in the future?
Anyway, I really don't know what more to say that hasn't already been stated many times over, but please consider revamping your revamp art. I just do not feel the Sylestia vibe in the new art, I feel Dr. Seuss.

Yes but you can't really see them. The tongue or proboscis is pretty much used as a mouth.

Oh I like the wings! I'm not fond of the weird curly noses or their super skinny bodies though. It's more like a wasp body than a moth? The shoots on the babies look great though. Actually the babies look amazing in general!
Edit: snoots, not shoots

Personally, I just can't find myself liking these designs at all. It seems too far off from the mark for me.

I really appreciate the work that goes into the revamps. But at the same time, this is a thread for feedback. I care very deeply about Sylestia so, though I feel bad about mostly negative feedback, it's what I feel I should do. However, I still find myself struggling to come up with the words to describe what it is I dislike with the current revamp idea but I'll try.
But first I do want to say I really like the antennae. I also like that the baby art is still super cute! I personally like the female hatchling though I can see how others have problems with it. I think the suggestion of open eyes help a lot.
What I don't like -
the nose/proboscis. I already brought it up before but I've been thinking more about it. I don't like how it covers part of the male's face. On a smaller image, it just looks very strange. But even then I don't really like the idea of it. It doesn't make much sense to me because this isn't how a proboscis should look.
style doesn't fit. It's been pointed out that it feels a lot like Dr. Seuss. I have to agree. It's mostly the face where this is concerned. It just doesn't quite feel right compared to the rest of the revamped species to me.
lack of fuzziness. The head has fur. Then there's the mane. But below that it doesn't look fuzzy at all. If it was only the mane that was fuzzy and not the head, then I think it would feel more natural than just the head and mane and not anywhere else. But I think all fuzzy would work better for a lunemara. The really fuzzy moths tend to be super cute.
dimorphism. Normally I'm pretty much for dimorphism between the males and females on the site. It gives variety. I particularly love how the kelps turned out. But on this one, I think it's a bit much with the extra hair on the female lunemara's head. I think that's part of what's bothering people who find it uncomfortable with them being more anthropomorphic.
body. There's a feeling of a lack of detail that the mane and above has. It just doesn't feel right. I agree with others that the very thin waist of the female feels off.
arms. I'm not really sure what to say. I kinda wonder if the bottom four should be more leg-like. Maybe a bit further apart? I'm not really up on my moth anatomy. I know in Sylestia lore that they actually act very bee-like and are always busy constructing. So I can see them having something finger like on the first set. But the arms feel very thick and not very detailed beyond the fingers. I liked the suggestion someone had of maybe adding some fuzziness to them just so there's something else going on.
wings. I'm mostly okay with the wings. But it's been pointed out that the bottom set should be closer to the body than the upper set. I know wing space is very limited so I understand the size issue.
I feel that the lunemara is probably a tricky species for a revamp. I know it's not particularly popular (though it definitely has it's fans!) and the current art with it's layers is outdated. I'm not honestly sure what I want to see in the revamp. I've thought about it a lot. Something elegant and moon themed? Something plump and fuzzy and cuddly? I don't really know. I do wonder if maybe plump and cuddly might be the better option because it's something that moths can provide that many other insects don't have.

I don't really like these new designs. I think the current ones look better.
