While summers here may be magical enough, could you imagine a midnight in a forest of fantasy? This was my inspiration for my design.

A honeybee! Honeybees are very important for both humans and the world. A lot of people see honeybees and bumblebees as mean and evil, but they're actually just very protective of their family and trying to get their work done. Here some fun facts about honeybees:
Honeybees and Bumblebees are the world's best pollinators, being responsible for pollinating 80% of the fruits, vegetables, and crops in the US alone!
You've probably never seen a male honeybee - a honeybee hive is a female-dominated society with the males, also known as drones, being ejected every autumn to die after reproducing with the queen.
Honeybees buzz because their wings beat over 11,000 times per minute.
Only female, worker bees, sting and only if they or the hive is threatened. Once they sting, they die and a pheromone is excreted to alert the hive. It is estimated that 1100 honeybee stings are required to be fatal.
Every year, honeybees make almost 25 lbs surplus in honey. Beekeepers will never take more then the bees require to make it through the winter.

My design is based on a tomato plant, as this is the time of year that they are blooming and producing bright red tomatoes in my garden. The red, of course, represents the tomatoes; the green represents the stems and leaves; the yellow represents the little yellow flowers; and the brown represents the soil.

Sunset Pear Kelpari
I based this Kelpari off of the pears which grow through summer. During the sunset, they display gorgeous colours which beg to be rendered into a design. It's not exactly the first thing one might think of for a summer-themed pet, but there are just so many beach designs that I wanted to stay away from the more typical inspirations.
Don't mind my poor photography skills; I thought a reference image might be useful.

I was inspired by this picture:
It's very reminiscent of how I'd spend my summers running
around in dandelion field. Honestly dandelions are the very
first thing I think of when the word "summer" pops up, I
absolutely love them, they're my childhood.

As others have said, one of the biggest parts of this summer was the eclipse. I saw the eclipse in totality myself, and I tried to capture it in this pet. I tried to design the glowingest pet I could, but it took a restricted trait, so I certainly hope we're allowed to use those.

my inspiration was the way light passes through the water and reflects on the ocean floor as well as the unbearable heat of an Australian summer that is easily cooled by a swim.
