The board was pinned up with quests, just like the paper Astraeus had shown you earlier, but it had a reward under each one. Gems, it said, so you assume it's the currency of the place. When you entered the town people looked at you, obviously knowing you're not from around here. Beside you was a market and a library.

I carefully scan over the paper, keeping an eye out for anyone else.As i hurriedly read the board,i check the price for every job.I start to get a little nervous and twiddle my fingers."Yep still doing that one" i tell myself

Would you like to check out the market or library, or do you prefer to stand in front of the board?

Heph hid a smile at Ilya's grumbling as she walked out.

Outside in the sun, she felt nice and warm compared to the cool tribal hall. She rubbed her eyes at the slight sting.

"Now, which way to the town..."

There was a dusty path leading straight forward from the pattern of caves, it didn't look worn down at all, but in the distance you saw a town. It had a wall around it and was large, you couldn't make out any people around it.

None. There were no books on how to ride animals.

Heph decided to start making her way down the path.

Ilya did tell her to look for the demon dog -- not that she would ever tell Ilya that, of course -- in the town, so it should be fairly certain that the dog was not in the cave system the tribe called home.

The path took an hour to get to town, but it felt like less time. You were used to the sun on the mesa, where the sky was open and sun bright. It was so dry not even fire magic could be practised, so people around here usually focused on the air. The town was large and has a wall around it. Some guards were by a trapdoor, "From the Tribe?" one whispered harshly at you

Heph cautiously nodded at the guard's question, instantly on guard due to his tone.

"Yes, I am Hephzibah Lin from the Windcaller tribe," she replied quietly, eyeing the group of guards and trying to calculate the odds of her escaping unscathed if things turned bad. Though it was probably her overactive imagination getting to her.

What else could I level up on? She thought tapping her fingers thoughtfully. Maybe Attack or Defense? She looked for books on battle techniques. She fingered the book spines looking at the titles for a book on the topic.

I look at the library longingly...but i decide to head to the market. As i squeeze my way through the crowd i nervously begin to sweat.I see others sweating...must be the heat.
