"Yup, isn't it best to be optimistic when faced with this sort of dilemma?" she smiled and the mood of the two in the back almost seemed to brighten instantly as they started laughing and talking.

I decide to leave, but grab my katana in case something happens

"I can't argue with that, but you know, assume theworst, so when it happens, you're prepared?"

I go to the sink and start filling a cup of water for her. "You should drink some water anyway. Dehydration won't help you any."

I'm not liking how sick she looks. None of her symptoms can be explained by the alcohol or the cut. I begin thinking of places nearby I could take her to get some help. Maybe the hospital or the police station? Or could I get somewhere on the university campus faster? I'm also evaluating whether it looks like she'll be able to walk very far.

As you walk out of your room the hallway seems clear although you can hear strange noises coming from somewhere underneath you, it was most likely something on the next floor down but the noises were like nothing you had ever heard before.

"Well, were from a different area and we're caught up in the first wave of infection. They tried to keep the virus in one area thinking it was some sort of contagion so they didn't bother telling other areas about it. We were trapped in an infected zone for 2 weeks since they were still unsure of the symptoms at the time and couldn't take any chances. Believe me, we know to always assume the worst at this point." her expression was from as she pushed all joking aside.

She cautiously took the cup, "Thank you." she seemed to calculate you every movement and strangely enough, even though she had asked you for help she still seemed to hold onto her suspicion as she tried to watch you without you realizing.

I go to the stair well, and put my ear to the door, listening to the noises "....."

"I mean, we can't keep running away, the world isn't infinite."
