Very nice! Mostly I like it but one thing I'm not a fan of is the cheeks. They're very poofy and distinct, and it looks weird to me like they're wearing masks? I think it would look better if they had more of a soft transition into the neck feathers?
Also the claws are so oversized that the poor things wouldn't be able to walk unless they were actually walking on the claws themselves instead of their feet/toes. There's a reason raptor clawed toes were pointed so sharply upwards. XD They definitely need shortening.
And I love the feathering details, but the tails are both much too stiff and uniform. They look more like weapons than fluffy tails, as if they have spikes instead of feathers. They would give off less pincher-y vibes with a middle feather on the tip I think, and look better if the feathers were a little more affected by gravity. The spiked look is also happening along the back of the male and the head/neck of the female.
The female has a straight beak while the male has a hooked one. Usually the same species will have the same sort of beak in both genders so that's a bit odd.
The final set of wing feathers. This one took me a bit to figure out what was bothering me but the length of that final set of wing feathers is ridiculous compared to the rest. Like, those feathers are easily double the rest, and that is just not something you see on flight feathers. You see that kind of length on decorative feathers, usually in the tail, but not on an entire set of wing feathers and never that stiff. I would suggest shortening the longest of them to give them a more realistic set of proportions. Perhaps make the wing feathers more proportionally right and put more longer/fancy feathers on the tails instead?

Ohhh! I was both worried and looking forward to this revamp! I adore nytes (which is why I have waaayyy to many in my stables....) and wasn't sure the revamp would do them justice! But they look wonderful, still cute but a bit fluffier and more regal! I can't wait for new genes and mutations!

Those are beautiful, I love all the new feather detail.
However...
I would like it if the necks were a bit shorter. I know some birds do indeed have longer necks, and these are also not supposed to be birds, just resemble them.
Their tails are also a bit weird. They look pretty stiff and almost spiky? I would think they would have longer, more flowy feathers.
As Nightfeathers said, they wing proportions are also a bit off. Instead of having really long feathers out at the ends, maybe they could be shortened a bit or the other feathers lengthened a bit to fit them. I feel as though feathers that long couldn't be stiff enough for them to actually fly on.
Maybe this has already been asked, I haven't scrolled through the whole thread, but what will the babies look like?

The only thing throwing me off is the gap between the last two feathers on the tip of the tails, I think a few feathers in the middle would stop throwing me off...it looks weird and not in a good way. I do like the way they look like a dried teasel cone, otherwise, though...very earthy and makes me think of wilderness type meadows and such. I can't understand how anyone sees those and thinks of a pine cone, though. Not the right look for pines. Teasel is one of my very favorite wildflowers, so I recognized the resemblance immediately.
I hope I provided enough visual references so that people can actually see what I'm getting at. I usually forget to do that.
Everything else looks good, the birds are of a pheasant-body type, and have the chunkier, heavier build of large game birds, so the longer neck makes sense. Putting a short neck on it would have about the same effect of crossing a Basset Hound with a Chihuahua....the pups tend to be downright strange looking.
Or worse, crossing a Basset Hound with a Mexican Hairless
Sometimes what you get is a Chihuahua sized head on a basset sized body....pinhead. I had a next door neighbor for years that had some....ew.
I was wondering if the wing base (nearest the body) could stand to be a bit longer, since a larger wing would be implied for the weight of the bird in flight, but it's not important.
Dried Teasel
Dried Pine cones
Like teasel, these pets make me think of meadow and open fields, not forest. In my head, this is the kind of habitat I see them in.

oooo they're so pretty!
i do agree with others who have said they should be smoothed out a bit. i think all those gorgeous details might look too busy against some of the traits and that they'd fit in better with the other sylestis as well.
also, the angle of the females' eyes makes her look a little more flat-faced than the male. i think this makes him look more life-like than her.
will we get to see the babies soon?
excited to see the final results!

Looks wonderful! Maybe make the females eyes a bit wider to be more in-line with the male's eyes?
