She waits in the dusk, where there is a cool breeze, and the light is a faded pretty pink. Springtime is her rebirth every year, but it doesn't take long before she starts to change to darker colors. She quickly turns to the night sky as her only desire, saddened by the destruction and interference springtime causes.
She feels the ground being ripped up, and the forest life being constrained, hunted, captured - limited. Spring isn't meant to be orderly and structured, but free and wild.
She guards her own grove, where civilized beings do not belong. The skies and colors of the night are the most unreachable, beautiful, and self-constrained part of her world - it is no wonder she shifts her colors to mimic it.

Acacia

Acacias Story
Acacia is the daughter of Spring spirits, and grew up in a small town of magic and witchcraft. One day, there was a huge argument about restrictions, and a few Fire spirits lost their temper and burned everything down. At the time, Acacia was only ten, and had been away, practising her animal communication with different species. When she returned, she saw how dangerous magic could be, and swore of fire for the rest of her life. She also wanted to never use magic again, but she decided it could be useful, and it wouldve been hard anyway, considering she was magic.

She taught herself how to fight, and protected all living creatures from anyone who even looked like they were thinking that tree over there would make good firewood. By the time she turned thirteen, she had properly harnessed her magic, and used it to grow food and make clothes. At fourteen years old, Acacia met a primal spirit of lightning; a guardian. It took the form of a bird and stayed by her side as her companion and caretaker, and together, they hoped they could make a peaceful world for a new generation.

Thumbelina

Every spring I am reminded of the story of Thumbelina and the movie adaptation by Don Bluth. Thumbelina is the fairy tale of a small thumb-sized girl born from a flower. She falls in love with a fairy prince, marries the prince, and receives a pair of fairy wings to help the fairies with the Spring bloom.

Eliza

Eliza was one of the elven priestesses of Faerina tasked with maintaining the shrine in Umbra Forest. She served Faerina by maintaining carvings and healing those that sheltered at Faerina's Shrine. While Eliza is no longer able to serve Faerina at her shrine due to the invasion of undead, she is still honoring the mandate of the priests of Faerina by protecting life at the Sanctuary of Saerielle where she works as a healer until the undead problem is taken care of and she can return home to the shrine.

The Spring Flower Faun

A mythical creature known as the Spring Flower Faun comes out once every year; during the first start of spring and going into hibernation after the last day of spring. She comes out only at night to tend to all newly flowers. She is the reason flowers ranging from trees to bushes to the ground bloom. But she also gets some help from her trusted golden Aeridini Jax. Together they spread seeds and keep up to their needs. Some years it is heard that they compete with one another to see who can tend to more flowers the quickest. Spotting these two can give you what people call blooming luck. Your health will be wonders throughout the rest of your given life and wealth will be as you found a pot o' gold.

Eclipse and Brook

"Hush, Brook. It's almost time." The young elf stroked his little Aeridini fondly with one pale, blue hand. Brook growled at the colourful, leaping figures below the clifftop, baring her tiny, white teeth.
"It's almost time," He repeated, glaring at the faeries below with a burning hatred that could melt a hundred blocks of ice. Carefully, he fingered the slash on his face, flinching from the stinging pain. Brook looked at him mournfully with those large, dark eyes and nuzzled her friend. Eclipse, for that was the Dark Elf's name, inhaled the cool, fresh air.
"The flowers are closing. The leaves are drooping. It is time." He plucked a bundle of petals from Brook's pretty, blue and cream tail. Then, carefully, oh so carefully, he tugged at the thick, rubbery disks and shredded them into thin strips. Eclipse's shining eyes shined even brighter, and he blew. Away, the petals flew, higher and higher without any aid from the breeze. Silence smothered them like a blanket as the broken petals flew and a great cloud formed. The Faeries below gasped in horror at the huge, grey shape and scurried away.
"Yesss," The Elf hissed. "Run away like the pathetic creatures you are." He raised his hands, as if to wrap them around the whole, wide world.
"This is my land now." Then the snow began to fall.

Winter is related to Spring, isn't it? It's the polar opposite (Polar, cold, Winter, get it?) of Spring which is exactly how they're related. Yin and Yang, good and bad, everything has it's opposites. Well, here's one for Spring. I hope you enjoyed the story.

Ever wonder where all the beautiful and vibrant spring flowers come from? Similar of the common flower fairies that can be found throughout Astryl's Meadow, these rare flower fairies only come out during spring. While the common flower fairies are using their magic to help grow all the lovely plants and flowers we see during this season, these fairies use their special abilities to alter the flower's genetics to give them that special bright pop of color. While it's extremely rare to cross paths with these fairies, as they're more shy and travel in smaller groups, if you are lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one rumors have it that you might find a trail of their magical dust. Such pure essence is used to make exceptional dyes for sylestis that keeps their coats shining and scales sparkling, all while holding any color imaginable.

Born a regular elf, Ayesha had always been quite fond of spring. Her mother would tell her stories of special elves, chosen by fairies to watch over the Earth and all who lived there. "The elves and fairies watched over every living thing. They controlled the weather and seasons, and made sure each transition went smoothly. Sometimes they give us droughts, or wildfires." Her mother said. "Why would they do that?" Ayesha asked. "Well, nobody knows for sure. I think they give us hard times so we appreciate the good ones." Her mother said with a smile.

*Ten years later*

As Ayesha walked through Astryl's Tranquility, she thought about the stories her mother would tell. Was there any way they were true? She wondered. She was 19 years old now, and felt too old for fairy tales. However, something about her mother's stories seemed to make sense to her, in a weird way. She looked up and saw the walls of Ethernia in the distance, where she lived. Winter was almost over, and her mother was due back any day now. It seemed like she was always gone during winter. Whenever her mother was gone, her father watched her. During the fall, it was her father who left, and her mother who stayed. They were always there for the holidays though. They never explained why they had to leave, they just said it was business. As Ayesha approached the gate, it slowly opened for her. She thought about her parents, wondering where they go.

As she approached her home, she saw that someone was there. She rushed inside, expecting her mother. As she walked in the door, she was greeted by both of her parents. Glad to see her mother, Ayesha rushed over and gave her a hug. She suddenly noticed a bunch of other people in their home. They were wearing strange clothes, representing what appeared to be different seasons. Her parents were wearing the clothes too, winter for her mother, fall for her father. Her parents quickly explained that they were Guardians who were chosen to help watch over the Earth. They were there because Ayesha was chosen. Ayesha couldn't believe it. She sat down at the table and gazed at the Guardians. "What is your favorite season, child?" Said one of the Guardians of Winter. "S-spring." Ayesha replied. "Would you like that to be your season?" The Guardian asked. "What do you mean 'my season'?" Ayesha asked. "It will be your job to help with whichever season you choose. If you choose spring, for example, then you will help your fellow Spring Guardians with things like making the blossoms bloom and waking up animals from hibernation, as well as making sure the weather is right." The Guardian explained.

"So I will have powers?" Ayesha asked. "Yes," Her mother explained," you will have the necessary powers to help with your season." "Well, then I choose spring." Ayesha said proudly. "So be it. From this day on, you will be a Guardian of Spring. It will be your duty to bring spring to the Earth, the season of new beginnings, and rebirth. Can we trust you with this task?" The Guardian asked. "Yes." Ayesha said.

Ever since that day, Ayesha has worked along with her fellow Spring Guardians and her Spirit Guide, Sage, to bring new life to the Earth every spring.
