Bakery pet (Noun; plural Bakery pets): An Exclusive Sylesti created via the Winter Festival Sylesti Bakery during the 2014 and 2015 Winter Festivals. Players gathered ingredients and utensils and then "baked" an Exclusive Themed Sylesti egg, which hatched into a Bakery Pet, q.v.
Bori (noun; plural Bories): Short for "Bulbori," a species of Sylesti.
breeding project (noun): A Sylestia player's plan for breeding certain pets to one another to achieve a desired result in the ultimate offspring.
breeding swap (Noun; plural breeding swaps): An agreement between two players, one of whom owns a female and the other a male of the same species, in which the players breed the pair of pets to each other twice, and each player gets one egg.
Bulb (noun; plural Bulbs): Short for "Bulbori," a species of Sylesti.
buying (noun): In a thread's subject line, this indicates the thread's creator wishes to purchase one or more of the thing(s) listed in the subject line for gold or Diamonds. Examples: "Buying Pet Dyes"; "Buying female Sylvorpas." Contrast with "auctioning," "seeking," "selling," and "trading."

Collector's Edition (Adjective): Of the original color scheme of a pet Theme whose colors were altered during or since the 2015 Spring Festival. The opposite of Collector's Edition is Modern. See this thread for a description of the specific differences: Guide to Color Changes in Themed Pets.
colt (Noun; plural colts): A male Kelpari or Qitari Hatchling.

Diamond (Noun): One of Sylestia's many types of currency. Certain items require Diamonds for purchase. There are two ways to acquire Diamonds: (1) buy them for RW cash from the Diamond Shop and (2) get them from other players.
Diamond Tester (noun): An Exceptional Genetic Test Kit, so called because one can only acquire it by spending Diamonds.
Drunk Nephini (slang): A type of Themed Nephini, the Cinnamon Eggnog Nephini.

Eggling (Noun: plural Egglings): The Sylestia term for a Sylesti egg (not to be confused with the real-world term "eggling," which means "reptile that is about to hatch, or has just hatched, from an egg"). A Sytlestia Eggling may be any species.

Fabled (adjective): Being, of, or like a pet species that cannot simply be found and captured while adventuring in Sylestia. Players can only acquire Tamed or Exclusive Fabled pets under certain restricted circumstances, though of course Fabled pets can be generated with Essences or bred to produce Offspring at any time. All other things being equal, Fabled pets come into existence with higher stats than non-Fabled pets do. The Fabled species are the Aeridini, Griffi, Lighira, Nephini, Ny'vene, and Ryori. Examples: "My first two Stables are just for Fabled pets"; "Fabled female pets take seven days to recover from producing an egg."
N.B.: The Puffadore is not a Fabled species but is often included with the Fabled species during Festival events, games, etc.
Fabled (Noun; plural Fabled): A species or pet of this type. Examples: "The Lighira was the first Fabled"; "Why would anyone use their only Fabled as a Mission Pet?"
Fae (noun; plural Faes): Short for "Faelora," a species of Sylesti.
fat noodle (noun; plural fat noodles): An Aeridini. See also noodle, ramen noodle, udon noodle.
fawn (Noun; plural fawns): A Faelora Hatchling.
Festival (noun; plural Festivals): A period of time, chosen and created by the administrators, during which new pet Themes come out, the administrators provide opportunities for Sylestians to win prizes, etc. See A Guide to Festivals for more information.
Fish pet (Noun; plural Fish pets): An Exclusive Sylesti created via the Summer Festival Sylesti Seeking area during the 2015 Summer Festival. In the Seeking area (a beach) Players "fished" and "dug" for Fishes, Clams, Pure Clay, and Pure Water and then combined them to create an Exclusive Themed Sylesti egg.

Hatchling (Noun; plural Hatchlings): A Sylesti that has hatched from its egg but has not yet assumed its adult appearance. Hatchlings are generally between three and nine days old, inclusive.

level gap (noun; plural level gaps): A significant difference in level between the highest-level pet and the lowest-level pet in a party. A level gap can be bad or good depending upon what a player is trying to accomplish with the party.

Nurture (verb): To click on the image of an egg or Hatchling and then click one of the four or five buttons that appear in the resulting pop-up window. If the button's label gives an appropriate response to the egg's or Hatchling's condition, the egg or Hatchling will benefit in some way, and the player who clicked the button will receive a Scale. Example: If the pop-up reads, "This Hatchling is hungry," the proper button to click to Nurture the Hatchling is "Offer it food."
Nyx (noun; plural Nyxes): Short for "Vulnyx," a species of Sylesti. Easily confused with Nixi.

philter (Noun; plural philters): A liquid which can be purchased from the Scale Shop or the Diamond Shop and administered to one pet, which consumes the philter. Some philters will only work on eggs that are ready to hatch; these philters permanently improve one or more of the pet's Statistics. Other philters work only on adolescent and adult pets; these philters have a wide variety of effects. Players cannot use philters on Hatchlings.
Plant pet (Noun; plural Plant pets): An Exclusive Sylesti created via the Spring Festival Sylesti Gardens during the 2015 Spring Festival. Players gathered Plant Pots, Fertilizers, Enrichments, and Seeds and then "grew" an Exclusive Themed Sylesti egg.
potato (Noun; plural potatoes): A non-specified reason, excuse, explanation, etc. (Verb): To perform some non-specified action.
Potion (Noun; plural Potions): A one-use item representing a liquid that restores an Adolescent or Adult pet's reduced Health, Mana, or both when used on a pet but cannot be used during a battle. Players may acquire Potions in any of the following ways: (1) Find them in a Satchel; (2) Find them after defeating enemies during an Adventure; (3) Purchase them at the Esior's Haven Market and Town Hall; Purchase them at the Sanctuary of Saerielle's Armory, Market, and Town Hall; and (4) Purchase them at the Ethernia Armory, Market, and Town Hall.
Puff (Abbreviation; plural Puffs): Short for "Puffadore," a species of Sylesti.

The ones I can think of off the top of my head at this moment:
Vis - visible traits, as opposed to carried
Nixi - shortened form of Zolnixi
Vorpa - shortened form Sylvorpa (not to be confused with Vorpar)
I suppose you could also include the abbreviations used in the Item Auctions thread - LF, T, O, S, B - although I don't know if there is really a standard.

Faelora tends to stay the same, maybe Fae, haven't seen much on Luffox. I personally tend to use Luff for them.
