So I've been around a while and have captured a few pets and all that but I haven't been able to find an in-depth explanation of how the traps work.
I was basically just curious as if to whether you have to weaken the sylesti you want to capture before you trap them or you just use a trap whenever and it just fails or works? If there anything else I can do to raise my chance of capture?
I just wanted a little clarification 'cause I just saw a rare zolnixi I wanted and failed three rare traps (the only three I carry at a time) in a row and ended up having a kill it. I just wanted to know if I was doing something wrong :c

If my understanding is correct, from the explanations that I've seen, weakening it and taking idle moves while trying to catch it helps (idle move, as in block or a healing move so that you don't accidentally kill it). The chances are random still, though. I would suggest carrying more than three traps at a time if you want to be able to have a better chance at catching pets.

@Edibbs
Apologies for the late reply, took a few days off, and thank you for getting back to me.
I was only carrying three as I didn't have much money, but I will definitely be stocking up. Again, thank you very much for the reply. c:

Ah, I understand. ^^ I thought you were saying that you only ever carry three traps. :p Sorry for that confusion, but I'm glad to help. ^-^
